Yes You Can

I wrote once about; “Yes you can.”  You have permission to live your destiny.  You are good enough, smart enough, and talented enough.  Sometimes we need to hear that again.

We hear, too often, about we can’t do something or that we aren’t good enough to do something.  Listen, you are good enough.  It’s easy to believe the negative and bad stuff about us, but know that the opposite is true.  Never think for a second that you don’t have what it takes.  You have exactly what it takes.

If you were doing exactly what you were created to do, what would you be doing right now? Sometimes we think our purpose and destiny is tied to one area, when in reality it isn’t. So think about it, if you were living your destiny to the fullest; what, where, and who would you be?

Mind Battles

We are getting things in line.  This year is going to be the greatest year ever for you.  You have heard me say that many times.  We can’t just wish it to be the greatest, but we have to have hope.  Time to get your mind right.

If this is going to be your greatest year ever, you have to believe it.  We sometimes believe the worst there is about us and our life.  It is time we begin to have faith and know it is going to be a destiny filled year.  The majority of the battle is in our mind.  If we think defeated, negative, low self esteem thoughts; then we will never make it.  That is why our thoughts and words are so important.  Begin to think the thoughts of a champion and you will become a champion.  Begin to think the thoughts of a winner and you will become a winner.  You see the progression here? You will become what you fill your mind with.  Get your mind wrapped around the fact that you have been wonderful and awesomely created. You have an incredible destiny.  You have a great impact in folk.  You do make a difference.  You do matter.  You do count.  You are appreciated and respected. You are loved!

No Man Is an Island

John Donne wrote, “No man is an island.”  How true this statement is in our lives.  It is a trick of the enemy to make you think you are all alone.  You are not alone in your life.

One of the major weapons of the enemy, and my enemy I mean Satan, is to isolate you from everyone.  If he can make you think you are all alone in your situation; he has you beat.  He will tell you that no one cares, no one understands, no one wants you around.  All of that is a lie.  You are not alone in your life, your destiny, or your situation.  There are folk in your life that will stand with you no matter what.  Never think you are on an island.  Never believe you are all alone and no one is there with you.  Open your eyes and look around, you will see the person God has placed in your life.  We were not created to be alone, we were created for one another.  Even though we hurt each other at times, relationships are still the most important thing in life.  So look around your island and you will realize that you are not alone.

Don't Look Back

There was a song that had the line; “Don’t look back,” in it.  Satchel Paige, a baseball player, used to say;”Don’t look back, something may be gaining on you.”  Both of these lines are good advice.

There is an enemy to our destiny and for most it is called ‘our past.”  When we get caught up in our past mistakes and wrong decisions we can easily lose sight of our destiny. If our past can keep us focused on it, rather than our destiny, then we will never live our destiny.  When we are stressed out and worried about what was; rather than exciting and pumped about what is coming; we have lost.  Our past is just that; past. It is gone; whether good, bad or ugly; it is all in the past.  Get your focus on today and what is coming.  Prepare by learning from the past, it is useful for something, but don’t dwell there.  Just like with Moses and the Israelis, when the cloud or the pillar of fire moved; they moved with it.  It is time to leave all the past in the dust and move on.  Our destiny is ahead and waiting for us to get a move on.  You are awesome and that includes your past.  You are still in the game. Don’’t take yourself out.  See you at the finish!

Power of Love

There is a place that we all desire deep down inside.  The place where we are loved, accepted, forgiven, appreciated and respected.  We all want these things in some form or fashion.

I want you to know that a place does exist.  There can be peace in the middle of the situation you are going through.  On your worst day ever, you can know that you are loved.  No matter what you have done in your past; whether it was last night or 12 years ago; there is a place of forgiveness for you. You are not a cast off or cast out.  There is a place where you are accepted for who you are and your gift.  All of this comes from the love of God.  The love of Jesus, it creates this place in us.  It doesn’t matter where you are in the world; there is a place for you. Remember, He created you just the way you are.  We may have done some things we aren’t proud of, but that never changes the fact that Jesus loves us.  His love accepts us, forgives us, appreciates us, and respects us.  It is all and all.  Never doubt the power of love.

Destiny Robbers

Let me ask you this; “Do you believe you have a destiny”? I have been surprised at the number of folk that have told me that they don’t believe they have a destiny.  Now hear this; “Yes, you do have a destiny and it’s an awesome destiny.”

The catch, if there is one, is this; you have to do your part.  God has created you with a gift and a destiny.  He has a plan for your life and it’s to see you succeed at your destiny.  However, if we choose not to walk it out then it will not happen.  We are given the gift of choice as well as destiny.  That’s why insecurities are such a horrible thing.  They rob us of what is rightfully ours.  When you are robbed of your destiny then the world too is robbed of something great.  You have awesomeness inside of you. It does take work, everyday work, to get that awesomeness out and working, but you can do it.  Don’t sell yourself short, don’t tell yourself you can’t do it, don’t say you aren’t good enough, don’t confess you have made too many mistakes.  We all have come up short at some point in our lives.  I have missed it countless times, but yet I continue to walk it out.  I know I have a destiny and you too.  Let’s put aside the issues, the insecurities, the unforgiveness, and pride.  Let’s walk this out together.

Destiny Words

The one thing we all have in common that could possibly stop us from reaching our destiny is fear.  There is no fear in a person of destiny.  You have to see the reality of your destiny.

We are creatures of habit and we tend to have a habit of fear.  We talk it all the time without even realizing it.  We lean toward worry and fear more than we think we do.  Just listen to the words you say, the news, and those around you.  They are full of fear and death.  The response I hear the most I hear the most is; “I really don’t mean it.”  That just doesn’t cut it.  Whether you mean it or not, if you are speaking it; then you are giving it life.  When folk speak words of life; folk look at them like they are out of their mind, but if they speak words of fear or death they just agree or laugh.  Take the time to check your words, because what is in your heart and mind is going to come out of your mouth.  No more fear and death filled thoughts or words.  We have to speak life and destiny.  Fill the atmosphere with your destiny words.  You are awesome! You are more than able! You have the God of the universe alive and well inside of you! No fear!

It's Your Time

Getting in line with your destiny.  This is the exact time and you are in the right place in 2011.  We were born for this specific time in history.  It’s time we start making a difference in this world.

Right where you are right now it’s your time and place.  Start in your mind with your destiny plan.  Rehearse it over and over until you know your part.  This is your time! There is no greater time to be alive than it is today.  You have been created for just this time.  There are folk that are broken, in desperate need of what you have, but is what you have ready for them?  Have you built up your spirit, soul and body to the point it is ready for destiny action?  I am super pumped and excited about what is happening all around us right now.  I know there are some sad and bad situations, but the answer is inside you.  We have inside of us what it takes to make a difference in this world. Are you willing to do what it takes? You are not average, but above average. You are not ordinary, but extraordinary.  This is the time, this is the place for you to live your destiny to the absolute fullest.  We have to be sold out and all in!

Coming Together

There is healing waiting for you and your relationships.  A broken heart can be the hardest thing to recover from in our life.  This year is going to be a time of healing for broken hearts.

Your best friend, spouse, or family may have broken your heart.  I really believe this year there are going to be many relationships restored and reconciled.  Our part is to make sure we have a clean, pure heart toward that person.  In other words, we must let love be our guide.  If relationships are going to be restored there has to be love.  When we have unconditional love then there will be no selfishness or pride blocking the reconciling of relationships.  If you really want to live your destiny; then relationships are vital. Allow the love in you to bring back those friendships.  Let love bring you together.

Restoring Relationships

I believe this will be a time of restoration and reconciliation of relationships. Is there someone in your life that has walked out or deleted you? This is going to be a year of reviving some of those friendships.

We all have had folk that we were close too, but for some reason or another that relationship was severed.  It could be any number of reasons, but this is going to be a year that relationships are restored and reconciled.  The story of the prodigal son comes to mind.  I see prodigal son type happenings in our lives this year.  There will be some cases where we are the prodigal coming home.  There are several keys to this happening; one is we have to be humble.  Pride is more than likely the reason the relationship was cut short in first place.  The second is love; we have to show and receive the unconditional love that gives life to relationships.

This is going to be an awesome year of destiny.  That will include the restoration and reconciliation of relationships.  I look forward to hearing some of your stories of this happening in your life.
