Finish With Excellence

Even if you are dog tired today; don’t you settle for average. Push yourself to be excellent. Do the extra mile; don’t just try to get by.

As the year nears the end, we all get super busy.  Being so busy can be not just physically draining, but mentally draining too.  It can be easy to cut corners and settle for average during this time.  I challenge you to finish the year strong. Finish the year with excellence.  Don’t get caught up in the non-essential, mind and physically draining aspects of the holiday season.  It is Christmas and Jesus is all about excellence. So honor the Christmas season with Christmas spirit and don’t settle, but do more for others than they expect. Do it for the right reason and find yourself energized, not dog tired. Finish 2011 strong!

Misunderstood

Sometimes I feel like the only way I am understood is by being misunderstood.  Ever felt that way? People that are living their destiny are quite often misunderstood.

When you are doing your best, falling yet getting back up, failing but never a failure, making mistakes but never giving up; then you will be misunderstood by many.  Those that are living a life of mediocrity will not understand your life.  When you keep trying when everything is going against you; most won’t get it.  They just don’t get it. This is a major rule of average people.  We all have the choice of being average or a person of destiny that never settles for average.  Just know that you will be misunderstood during your life.  I choose to be misunderstood and live my destiny to the fullest and I believe you do as well.  Make the decision today to live your life to the fullest and never settle for mediocrity.

Roadmap to Your Destiny

01 31 11 Monday

I am putting together a program, Roadmap to Your Destiny.  It is a year long program that will help you discover and live your destiny.  I am keeping the number of partners to 15 so that we can do this right.

If you are serious about wanting to discover and live your destiny then this may just be what you have been looking for.  There is no cost for this program but you will be required to do your part.  If you really want to see personal growth, change, improvement and changes in your life then this is for you.  We will work on different areas of your life; relationships, your walk with God, your physical well being, your mental state and other areas.

Roadmap to Your Destiny will take you to the next level, but only if you are willing to commit to walking it out and then actually walking it out.  You will have weekly emails, podcasts, Ebook, conference calls, and other awesome materials to see to it you have every advantage possible.

If you are interested then let me know by emailing me at scott@scottwimberly.com and we will take it from there.  Thank you and here’s to discovering and living your destiny.

Yes You Can

01 11 11 Tuesday

I wrote once about; “Yes you can.”  You have permission to live your destiny.  You are good enough, smart enough, and talented enough.  Sometimes we need to hear that again.

We hear, too often, about we can’t do something or that we aren’t good enough to do something.  Listen, you are good enough.  It’s easy to believe the negative and bad stuff about us, but know that the opposite is true.  Never think for a second that you don’t have what it takes.  You have exactly what it takes.

If you were doing exactly what you were created to do, what would you be doing right now? Sometimes we think our purpose and destiny is tied to one area, when in reality it isn’t. So think about it, if you were living your destiny to the fullest; what, where, and who would you be?

Don’t Look Back

01 08 11 Saturday

There was a song that had the line; “Don’t look back,” in it.  Satchel Paige, a baseball player, used to say;”Don’t look back, something may be gaining on you.”  Both of these lines are good advice.

There is an enemy to our destiny and for most it is called ‘our past.”  When we get caught up in our past mistakes and wrong decisions we can easily lose sight of our destiny. If our past can keep us focused on it, rather than our destiny, then we will never live our destiny.  When we are stressed out and worried about what was; rather than exciting and pumped about what is coming; we have lost.  Our past is just that; past. It is gone; whether good, bad or ugly; it is all in the past.  Get your focus on today and what is coming.  Prepare by learning from the past, it is useful for something, but don’t dwell there.  Just like with Moses and the Israelis, when the cloud or the pillar of fire moved; they moved with it.  It is time to leave all the past in the dust and move on.  Our destiny is ahead and waiting for us to get a move on.  You are awesome and that includes your past.  You are still in the game. Don’’t take yourself out.  See you at the finish!

Stir It Up

12 30 10 Thursday

It’s time to stir up that gift that is inside of you. I was thinking the other day about what is like when we are operating in our gift.  Not so much from our point of view but from God’s point of view.  He is the One who gave us our gift.

I was thinking what it must be like when we use our gift; whatever your gift may be.  What does God see? What must He think when we are using our gift with no agenda, no motive except to honor Him?  I don’t believe it is wrong to think that God has tough days, He is dealing us you know.  So when we are just giving back to Him what must He feel?  If it’s music, writing, art, teaching, care giving whatever your gift is, how proud of us is He?  When we are in that flow, in the zone and what we are doing just seems effortless, you know it has to be because He is listening and watching.  It’s not performing before God, but just enjoying God and He enjoying us.  I know as a dad I am proud of my little girl when she is operating in her gift, even as young as she is, how much more must He feel toward us.  It is beyond my concept, but I am beginning to get a sense of it.  All of this is to say, use your gift.  Stir up the gift that is inside you.  Use it without agenda or motive. Just do it! You are an awesome and gifted person, no matter what that gift may be.   As we lean into 2011, honor God with your gift.
