Keeping the Peace

I’ve learned that some people are peace stealers. They feel like it’s their calling in life to aggravate you, try to make you look bad, and tell you what you can’t do.

They’ll try to bait you into an argument to get you upset, annoyed and frustrated. But don’t take the bait! Nothing is worth losing your peace over. They may think they’re getting the best of you, but in the end, God can use that to take you higher. When people come against you, choose to keep your peace. Choose to forgive. Pray for that person because that’s how you disarm the enemy against you. Your says your battle isn’t against flesh and blood. In others words, that person isn’t your enemy; the accuser—Satan—is your enemy. He’s trying to bring division and get you upset. But when you choose to keep peace, when you keep walking in love and keep a smile on your face, you are overcoming his tactics. That’s how you win. Choose peace, choose to walk in love, and choose the victory God has prepared for you!

Showing the Love

Never take the people in your life for granted.  The only way you will ever do this is to show them the love you desire in your life.  Love them despite it all.

There are people that will come into and then out of your life.  There are people that will be in your life for a long season. Whether for a day or for a lifetime, never take people for granted.  There is something that they can add to your life and you to theirs.  Never take for granted the people that God has placed in your life today.  There is only one way to do this; love them.  Give them the love that you desire in your life.  We all have an innate need to be loved.  Show others this love and you will receive that love too.  It may not come directly from that person, but that is okay too.  We don’t have the right to pick and choose who we love.  Love is the only thing that matters. No love, no peace.

The Eyes Have It

This year and from now we need to see people through eyes of love, forgiveness, hope, understanding, patience, hope, encouragement.

People are quick to pass judgement on others without taking the time to look at where they are in life.  If we took the time to see the situation from the other person’s point of view, we would not be so judgmental.  We have to realize that others are going through tough day too.  We judge ourselves by our intentions but judge others by their actions.  Give others the benefit of the doubt when they act out.  There is probably something going on in their world that is causing them to act that way.  When we start seeing people through eyes of love, forgiveness, hope, understanding, patience, hope and encouragement, we will make a difference in their life.  It goes back to treating others even better than we want to be treated.  Don’t be so quick to pass judgement on others, but rather take the time to be a positive force in their life today.

Gift Idea

People who always seem to be frustrated, angry, upset, blaming others, and just in a bad mood more than likely have forgiveness issues.

When we carry around unforgiveness in our heart, it will make us bitter, resentful and just plain mean.  Unforgiveness will eat at you from the inside out.  There is not anything worse than a person carrying around a heart full of unforgiveness.  They seem to be mad at the world.  Nothing ever goes their way, everyone is out to get them and so on.  It is only when we forgive others and ourselves that we can have the peace, joy, love and happiness that we all so desperately desire.  When we can unload the unforgiveness it will give you the peace and hope.  This Christmas give yourself the give that will be a blessing to you and those around you; give forgiveness.  Whether or not they ask for it or even care if you do forgive them. Forgive everyone that has ever wronged you! Do it today! Today being my birthday I am giving the gift of forgiveness. I can already tell a difference.

Not Necessary

It’s not necessary to tell a starving man he is hungry.  It’s not necessary to tell a dehydrated man he is thirsty. So why must we tell people of their faults, mistakes, issues, and sins?

People know when they are doing wrong and the wrong they have done in their life.  We all know the mistakes we have made, the sins in our life and the issues we face everyday.  Having people throw that in our face is not going to help.  Judging and condemning is not going to help.  On the other hand, offering encouragement, hope, forgiveness, a shoulder to lean on can make a difference.  Understanding where someone is, is not condoning what they are doing or agreeing with what they are doing.  Offer people a peace of mind not a piece of your mind.  We all have those areas that we need help in.  Be an encourager today. Don’t tell them all the wrong stuff in their life, give them hope and build on the right stuff.  Make a positive difference today!

The Pain

We all are going to experience pain in life.  Either the pain of discipline or the pain of regret.  I have experienced the pain of regret far too often; I am desire the pain of discipline over the pain of regret.

When we do what our flesh desires to do we will experience the pain of regret due to our actions.  When we endure the pain of discipline; we will experience the joy of success for it.  Either way our life is going to have pain in it.  It is your decision whether it is the short pain of discipline or the longer pain of regret.  There is a great reward for those that have discipline in their life.  When we want to do what is easy and what everyone else is doing; but we instead do what is right.  That is discipline.  It takes discipline in our spirit, soul and body to get the reward of success. The peace that comes from knowing that we did the right thing and no matter what it looks like it is going to be okay.  The rest that comes at night when you know you had discipline during the day and did what was right, not what was easy.  There is pain with discipline but you will receive peace, joy and happiness from doing what is right.  Do the right things regardless of the cost because the payoff is far more than anything it will cost you.  I applaud you today! I know you will do what is right.
