Getting Closer

I was overwhelmed by all the birthday wishes I received on Facebook, texts, and by email.  I quite counting at 200.  There is another birthday that I am overwhelmed by too; Jesus.

The closer we get to Christmas and the New Year the more excited I am getting.  I can just feel the changes that are coming.  I really and truly believe that 2011 is going to the beginning of something awesome.  More and more folk are going to start discovering and living in their destiny.  There will be positive life changing experiences taking place in our lives.  We will find that we are in the right place, at the right time, doing the right thing, for the right reasons.  When this begins to happen this world will turn right side up.  I am excited about your destiny and what is in store of you.  When we get the pride, unforgiveness, selfishness, insecurities and fear out of our lives then destiny will begin to come alive in us.  It is an exciting and exhilarating time to be alive.  Just a few more days to get ourselves in position mentally, physically and spiritually for what is coming.  Don’t be on the outside looking in; get in today! Your destiny awaits!

Born with a Purpose

We are getting close! So close to 2011.  I hope you are as excited and full of anticipation about what is waiting for us in the upcoming year and decade.

We are so blessed and fortunate to be alive right now! You were not born a day too early or a year too late.  You were created for a time such as this.  Folk may try to make us believe that we are not any good and we should have never been born.  That’s a lie! You and I were created for a special purpose and we were born right at the exact moment.  We were not a mistake or an accident.  Just because a person was not planned by their parents does make them a mistake or an accident.  God planned for you and set in motion a great plan just for your life.  We may have some physical or mental limitations, but we still have a destiny.  Everyone, you and me included, have a destiny.  Not just an ordinary destiny, but you have an extra-ordinary destiny.  Don’t sell yourself or anyone else short.  There is greatness in us all.  There is a gift inside of you that is awesome.  Prepare for destiny today! Prepare for greatness today! Prepare of significance today! Have no fear! Have no fear! Believe in the God that created you and the ability to accomplish what it is He created you to do.

You Say It's Your Birthday

Happy Birthday to me!! 45 years young today. Feel better than I did at 35. Hope to say that in 10 more years too.  Thanks for the BD wishes.

For me the best birthday present would be to see you living your destiny.  I talked a couple of years ago about if everyone in the world started walking in their destiny.  Wow! What would that look like? If you, me, your family, your neighbor, everybody in the world got up this morning and began moving, living, walking, talking, operating and fulfilling their destiny, their purpose in life.  There would be some awesome changes taking place in a short time period. Know that destiny is not just for a few select folk.  You, yes you, have a very distinct and specific destiny and purpose in life.  Are you living out your destiny? It is my desire, dream, and purpose to see you in your destiny.  My destiny, you see, is to see you in your destiny.  Don’t lose hope in your dreams and destiny. You have got to hold on to your dreams.  Allow them to take you places you need to go.  Allow them to enable you to do things you didn’t think you could do.  No fear! Absolutely no fear! What a great birthday gift indeed to see you on the way to your destiny!!

A Giving Spirit

I suppose it being Christmas I should write something about the Christmas Spirit and all that comes with it.  So this will be one that deals with Christmas Spirit; the spirit of giving to others.

This cannot be the only time of year that we, folk of destiny, have a giving spirit.  If you are destiny minded then you are in a giving spirit all the time, every day.  You are the gift that you give.  You have a gift inside of you and when you give yourself then you are giving that gift.  That is one reason that I am making a gift of my book Embrace Your Destiny.  I think it is important enough to get that gift to folk that I don’t want income from it.  You have a gift in you; what is your gift? What should you be giving every day? It may start with a smile, a pat on the back, or some other form of encouragement.  When we give the gift that God has given us, don’t look for immediate return or reward. Think of it as planting a seed.  Wait for it to grow and mature.  Give the gift that never stops giving; the gift inside of you.  You are very gifted and awesome. I appreciate you very, very much.

Sowing Into Your Life

Today it has been seven years that my dad past away.  I don’t say this looking for sympathy or anything like that, just in saying in all things we can find something positive.  In his passing I have learned so much.

I do miss my dad.  Although, our relationship wasn’t the greatest; it was awesome the last six months of his life.  In June of 2003, Melissa and I had Gloria, his only grandchild. I saw the way he interacted with her the times he was with her.  Most of the time he was in the hospital.  My dad proved to me that folk can change.  He made significant changes in his life in the end.  He gave me an example of what love really is all about.  Love is all about serving and giving.  Love is a verb not a noun.  Love is an action.  Granted feelings do occur, but feelings do change, come and go, and are not  always reliable.  However, true, genuine, unconditional love is solid, stable and always growing.  That kind of love is about giving to others of yourself, your gift, your life.

So with all this in mind I want to sow into your life a gift.  My first book; Embrace Your Destiny.  As a gift, if you would like to give you a copy. All or Nothing

I saw a person on the news the other day say that, “Complete forgiveness would be inappropriate in his case.”  How sad that we would think this; even in the worst situation.  I am not taking away from what happened to this man and his family but to say complete forgiveness would be inappropriate is an awful place to be.

There is no such thing as partial forgiveness.  At least I don’t think there is such a thing.  We either forgive someone or we don’t.  Forgiveness has to be complete and quick.  Never bringing that offense back up again. I hear all the time how hard it is for folk to forgive others.  Why is it so hard? The first thing I can think of is pride.  We were hurt by someone, but the hurt is there only if we allow it.  They may hurt us physically, but internally only if we allow it.  Be quick to forgive. Remember, when we are the one needing forgiveness we want it quickly too.  They may not deserve it in our opinion, but our opinion doesn’t over rule the fact that we too don’t deserve it, but we still need it. Forgiveness cleanses us. Forgiveness will give you peace and freedom that nothing else can.  That’s why it can be hard to do, the reward of forgiveness is awesome.  Forgive today; quickly and completely.  Hold no offense in your heart.

Gift Giving

The gift that keeps on giving.  That is something we usually say around this time of year; both for gifts we like and those we don’t so much like.  We have all been given a gift that keeps on giving.

There was a gift placed deep inside us before we were born.  That gift is for us to give to others.  What is your gift? You may not know yet, that’s fine.  Let’s discover our gift and use that gift to make this the greatest Christmas and greatest new year we have ever experienced.  None of us have the gift that you have.  That gift will lead you to your destiny.  You are gifted whether you realize it or not.  You have the ability to do something like on one else can do.  Never allow anyone to tell you that you are useless, worthless or no good.  Nothing could be farther from the truth. You are incredible, awesome, wonderful, valuable, and precious.  There is no one else just like you.  Develop your gift and let it flow through you.  I am excited about our destiny and future.  I can’t wait to see you reach your highest.  This is your time! This is your day!

Just Around the Corner

I am excited about the coming of 2011.  I truly believe this new year, this new decade will be the greatest we have ever seen.  There are opportunities just around the corner, not just for me but for you too.  Get ready to see your life change in awesome ways.

You may be wondering what I am so excited about.  I really sense and feel like your best year is just around the corner.  I know this is going to be a great time for us all.  There has been so much happen to us all in the past few years, that has prepared us for what is coming.  If you are graduating high school, college, or hard knocks then this is your time.  Age, race, sex, religion has nothing to do with who is going to have a great year.  It is for those that are expecting.  Just like when a woman is expecting a child.  She and the family prepare, they get everything ready.  I am saying the same for us now. Start getting yourself ready for the coming of something awesome.  Prepare your heart, mind and body.  Don’t what is in store for you.  Remember the opportunity of a lifetime must be grasp during the lifetime of the opportunity.

Jimmy V

It’s this time of year that in college basketball there is the Jimmy V challenge.  Coach Jimmy Valvano coached the North Carolina State team to the National Championship in 1982-83 season. He died of cancer ten years later.  During his treatment his message to us was; “Don’t ever give up.” That message still stands strong today.

I have written many times about not giving up.  We are so close to something great, awesome and powerful in 2011.  We have to be sure and stay persistent in our destiny, others are depending on us.  We have to stay the course, if you will. Your life does make a difference.  It does not matter if you are male or female, your race, your religion, your age, or where you live.  You make a difference.  Without you in the world there is a void that no one can fill.  The fact that you are here today means you still have destiny in you. Don’t give up, don’t take yourself out of the game.  Don’t allow someone else to talk you out of your destiny.  It happens all the time. We allow others to stop us.  Listen, even if you are still in high school and think you have to wait until you have graduated and maybe went to college before you start living; you are living your destiny right now.  You make a difference today! You are so awesome, valuable, and worthy of recognition. You do have a destiny, purpose, and reason for living.

What's In Your Wallet

There is a commercial that asks,”What is in your wallet?” As we move into day three of our destiny quest into 2011; I want to ask a question.  “What is in your heart”?  That is the next step to an awesome New Year.

We can be doing all the right things but if our heart, our motives, and our agendas aren’t right then we are still wrong.  For some just doing the right thing some of the time is enough.  For others, doing the right thing if it serves them good is enough.  For the rest, doing the right thing, the right way, and for the right reason is the only way.  The third group is the group of destiny folk.  Check your motives, agendas, and reasons.  Make sure they are pure and wholesome.  I can speak from personal experience that I have done the right thing but for the wrong, selfish reasons and it always crashed in on me.  Wrong motives and agendas will always lead to disaster in some form or fashion.  Trust me on this one, I know.  I ask everyday, “God check my heart and make sure that its right and all that I am doing is for the right reason and show me the right way.”  Selfishness still tries to step in and do its part, but I am learning.

I am so expectant about your destiny, purpose and future going into 2011.  I feel like a little boy at Christmas! I know there is going to be some awesome things happen to you in the near future.  I can’t wait to hear about them! Prepare for the best!
