Are You Imitating

Have you ever spent time with a small child or baby and had them mimic your every sound or action?

To them it’s a fun game, but internally, they are learning by watching and copying everything you do. They just watch and do the same thing. That’s because we are all prewired to be imitators. Just like little children, we are all still imitators. So many people today end up imitating what they see in the world, on TV, in the news and magazines. But we need to imitate those that have gone before us and succeeded in what we want to succeed in. If you want to be a difference maker then be an imitator, not a copy cat, but do what they have done to succeed. If you need to change your actions today, change what you are imitating by simply changing your focus. Who are you imitating today?

Rut

Too often, it’s easy to get stuck in a rut, doing the same thing the same way over and over every day.

But if we are going to live at our full potential, we should constantly be growing and sharpening our skills. We should strive to learn and grow every single day because when you stop learning, you stop growing. When you stop growing, you stop living. In this season of your life, what are you doing to stretch yourself? What are you doing to improve your skills? Don’t get trapped into thinking that “good enough” is good enough. You were created for more than just average. Today is a new day, and there are new heights for you to climb. Pursue what you love and keep developing that area of your life. Take a class or find a mentor that will help you live skillfully. As you do, you’ll see growth and success. Are you in a rut today?

The Experts

Did you know that according to all the laws of aerodynamics, a bumblebee should not be able to fly?

Its wingspan is too small for the size of its body. It can’t get enough lift. But here’s the key: Nobody told the bumblebee. It didn’t get the memo. No experts were able to talk it out of flying. The bumblebee felt its wings on its sides and something in its DNA said, “I’m supposed to fly. I’m not made to just crawl around on the ground.” It didn’t read the latest engineering report. It just did what was natural and started flapping its wings and took off into the air. Have you ever had the experts tell you, “You’ll never get well; you’ll never get out of debt; you’ve gone as far as your education allows; this is as good as it gets”? With all due respect, the experts can be wrong. You are a Champion, no matter what anyone has told you. You have a destiny and a purpose filled life. You will do what you were created to do in the world. Are you listening to the so called “experts”?

Now

Releasing a negative play and getting to the next play is a skill that must be developed to be a Champion.

When you hold on the something you did wrong you then lose focus in the now. A Champion must have the mindset of being in the present, being in the now. I often tell players and coaches to flush the past plays, especially the negative ones. Just like having a toilet flushing. Not much difference between a negative play and the toilet…. Both need flushing from your mind. Stay present minded. Stay in the now. There is nothing you can do about a negative play. Learn from the it and don’t repeat it. This holds true on the field, the court, the hardwood, and in life. There are going to be days that you make a bad play, don’t keep it from moving forward. Don’t let the mistake you made at the office stop you from your destiny. Don’t let that mistake you made in that relationship stop you from loving others. To be unstoppable you have to continue to move forward. To be relentless you have to stay in the now. Now will always be now. It is constantly moving forward and in the present. There is no now in the past. Release and flush the negative and get to the next play in your life today. Are you staying in the now?

Delete It All

No matter what has happened in your life, it is never too late to become everything you were created to be.

The key is to clear out all the negative things people have said about you and focus on the positive! You are not who people say you are. You have to clear out what that old coach or teacher said about you. Delete it. Quit thinking on that. You have exactly what you need for the race that’s been designed for you. Clear out what the counselor said, “You’re just a C student. You’re not college material.” Delete it. You’re an A student. You have seeds of greatness. Clear out what the ex-boyfriend or ex-spouse said, “You’re not attractive. You’re not good enough for me.” Delete it. You’re a masterpiece, one of a kind, beautiful, attractive, a Champion. You might even have to clear out what a parent said or whoever raised you. “You’re so undisciplined. You’re never going to amount to much. You can’t do anything right.” Delete it. You are destined to do great things. You’re destined to leave your mark on this generation, and it’s never too late to embrace all your destiny has in store for you. What do you need to delete today?

Your True Mindset

Many people today don’t realize that the reason they’re not happy, the reason they’re not enjoying life is simply because they’ve trained their minds in the wrong direction.

They’ve programmed their minds to worry. They’ve programmed their minds to complain. They’ve programmed their minds to see the negative. But just as we can train our minds to focus on the negative, we can also reprogram our minds to focus on the positive. It all depends on what we meditate on. When we meditate on the truth we reprogram our minds. When we meditate on the truth, we are developing a right mindset. When we choose to be grateful and focus on what’s right rather than what’s wrong, we are choosing a positive attitude. This doesn’t happen automatically, you have to discipline yourself to focus on the right things. You have to make a conscious effort to spend time developing a truth based mindset every single day until a habit is formed. What is your mind set today?

Your I AM

Have you ever considered the power of the statement, “I am”?

What follows these two simple words will determine what kind of life you live. ” I am strong. I am healthy.” Or, “I am slow. I am unattractive. I am stupid.” The “I am’s” that are coming out of your mouth will bring either success or failure. All through the day the power of “I am” is at work in our minds. Many times we use the power of “I am” against us. We don’t realize how it’s affecting our future. Here’s the principle. What follows the “I am” will always come looking for you. The good news is that you get to choose what follows the “I am.” When you go through the day saying, “I am unstoppable,” you become unstoppable. “I am talented.” Talent comes looking for you. You may not feel up to par but when you say, “I am healthy,” health starts heading your way. “I am strong.” Strength starts tracking you down. You’re inviting that into your life. Get up in the morning and invite good things into your life. Declare “I am relentless. I am strong. I am talented. I am disciplined. I am focused. I am a Champion.” And always make sure the truth follows “I am”! What is your I AM today?

Purposed Mind

Don’t look at your challenges; look to the future.

The great Psalmist Steve Miller sang, time keeps on slippin slippin slippin into the future. This is how he says you fly like an eagle. So to be an eagle, a Champion, you have to focus on the future and not the challenges of life. When you focus on the circumstances, you will never move into you destiny. Your future will never become your present when you stay problem minded. Stay focused on your purpose. When you stay challenge minded you are stopped. By staying purpose minded, you stay unstoppable. There are few people that are purpose minded rather than problem and circumstance minded. That is a major factor in who is a Champion and who isn’t. Practice your mental focus on your strengths. Stay where you are supposed to be, doing what you are supposed to be doing. Are you purpose focused today?

Inner Alarms

Do you ever feel an inner “alarm” going off when you know you shouldn’t be doing something?

As soon as we feel that uneasiness, we need to stop and evaluate what’s going on. Too often, people override that feeling thinking they’ll sort it out later, but then they have to deal with things that they could have avoided. The time to respond is the time when you sense the alarm. You may be in the middle of a conversation and the alarm goes off. You know you’re supposed to walk away. Don’t ignore it. Or, you’re about to purchase something. You’re about to make some plans and you feel that check, that uneasiness, that alarm. That’s not random. If you will learn to listen, you can stay away from trouble. Don’t ignore it and make life more difficult; instead, quickly obey. Don’t override the alarms. Are you listening to the alarms today?

Mind Sight

From a mental perspective, what is imagined is true and real.

You have to expect what you desire is going to happen. Just wanting it to isn’t enough. Believe in your mind that you will be a Champion. Know that you are unstoppable and will be the best. You see it first in your mind before you see it with your eyes. See yourself being successful. See yourself being the best at what you do. Visualize yourself being the Champion God created you to be. If you can see it in your mind and you know it’s your destiny; then go make it happen. Practice everyday seeing yourself where you want to go and be. Start and end each day seeing with your mind. Use your mind to move yourself forward. So many people allow their mind to control their life and keep them down. Be in control of your mind today and see your life go to another level. Can you see with your mind today?
