Sometimes, it’s easy to get wrapped up in taking care of the people around us.
You may find that you’re always giving, taking care of the children, working overtime at the office, or helping that friend who is struggling. And that’s all good. But if you’re not careful, you can end up feeling rundown. That’s why you have to take time every day to get filled back up. Your first priority should be taking care of yourself. Take time to read some good “self help” books. Listen to podcasts or books while you are driving each day. Use your workout time to improve yourself mentally as well as physically. Are you taking time to refill your tank each day?

Life has many intersections, opportunities to go up or down. At these intersections we make choices. Major decisions….
One major decision to make when you get to one of these intersections is; never give up; do something. Too many times, too many people give up. Just at the most important time in their life; they stop. Never give up. Not sure what to do at the intersection? Do something. Don’t ever give up. I believe in you. I know that you can do what you were created to do. You have what it takes. You can do it. Don’t let fear stop you, don’t let indecision paralyze you. Do something. You only got one shot at this thing, so make it count. Afraid you are going to make a mistake? Yeah, you will, but it’s okay. Make a mistake, many another mistake, but all the time learning from every failure and success. Learning what to do and what not to do. You are at an intersection today, make a decision and do something. I am counting on you. I know you got this. Now go to it! Are you ready to go?

Here is a simple, rule of thumb guide for behavior: Ask yourself what you want people to do for you, now go do it for them.
The way to tell how mature you are is by the way you treat people who can’t do anything for you. We can all be kind to the boss. He may give us a promotion. We can all be friendly to the popular person at school. If they like us, everybody will be our friend. That’s easy. But if we’re going to live the way God intends, we’ve got to learn to be good to everyone. Jesus said, “When you do good to the least of these, you’re doing it unto Me.” When you go out of your way to befriend the person that everyone shuns, Jesus said, “It’s like you’re doing it unto Me.” Instead of rushing by the parking lot attendant you see at work each day, why don’t you take time to see how they’re doing? That person at the office that others ignore, why don’t you reach out to them and share the love of Jesus? We build the kingdom of God one life at a time. Show love, show His goodness, tell people about salvation through Christ. As you reach out and help others, just like a boomerang, that help will come right back to you, and you’ll move forward into the blessing and destiny He has prepared for you. Are you doing for others today?

Most of your fear is not that you are good enough, but that you may be too good.
Your deepest fear is not that you are inadequate. Your deepest fear is that you are powerful beyond measure. It is your light, not your darkness, that most frightens you. Your playing small doesn’t serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so other people do not feel insecure around you. You were made to shine as children do. It is not just in some of you. It is in everyone. And as you let your own light shine, you unconsciously give others permission to do the same. As you are liberated from your own fear, your presence automatically liberates others. Are you letting your light shine to the fullest?

People that try to mind your business don’t really have their lives under control, they want to have yours under control.
You have known people that focused all their attention on others problems. Not in a helpful way, but in an exposing and hurtful attitude. As long as they could keep the focus and spotlight on you and your mess then they remained hidden. They wanted to mind your business because their own life was a disaster. They had no control of their life, so they spent their time trying to control others. Don’t be upset with this person, understand that they are hurting. They have a burden on them that they can’t face. In time, you may just be the one to help them work out their situation. When you don’t reject them, don’t act ugly toward them, but love them; they possibility will ask you to help them. Take responsibility for your life and your decisions. By doing so you will be a model for those that haven’t done so yet. You can be the difference maker in their life. Is their someone seemingly trying to control your life today?

One of our main purposes in life is to help others, if you can’t do that then don’t hurt them.

It does seem like some people believe their purpose in life is to hurt others. This is not true, but it feels like it at times. One of, if not our major purpose, in life to help others. You are to serve others in your purpose, with your gift. Many people start out with this intention and do help others by serving them. However, something happens; life happens, and they change. When you get hurt by others, especially when you are trying to help, it has a tendency to make you angry, resentful, and bitter. You have been around these people, you know what I am talking about. I am asking you to make sure you aren’t this person. Take a good look at your live and make sure you have not stopped helping others and started hurting others. I had to do this in my own life, because I had started moving to the dark side. Do an inventory today, check your purpose and the results you are getting. Are you helping or hurting others today?

Some people are discouraged because they don’t know how to encourage themselves.
Don’t spend your life waiting for someone else to pick you up, encourage you and get you going. Be a self encourager. Learn to speak words of encouragement to yourself. Each day when you wake up, start the day by speaking positive, encouraging words to yourself. No one has to hear it, but you need to. You hear every word you say. You “hear” every thought you have too. Use your words and thoughts to help you in your daily life. As we get this new year started, let’s start it off right. Begin the new year by encouraging yourself. You will then see it spread to others. When you are encouraged you will be an example others will follow. Change your perspective and attitude about yourself, your family, your friends and see your complete life change for the better. Be a self encourager today. Are you speaking words of encouragement to yourself every day?

Don’t let your struggles become your identity.
We all go through seasons of difficulty and face storms in life. But during those times, we have to remember that God is greater than any struggle we face! He’ll take those challenges and use them to strengthen us, but we have to do our part and keep working our process toward the victory. Think about the caterpillar before it becomes a butterfly. When it’s wrapped in its cocoon on the backside of some tree, it doesn’t look like it has many options. But inside that cocoon as it becomes a butterfly, it doesn’t just sit and wait for someone to come and let it out. No, that butterfly knows that it has to make a move if it’s going to be set free to fly. In the same way, we have to do something to get out of the confining places we are in. We have to pray, we have to believe, and we have to press through to victory. No matter what you may be facing, remember His grace is sufficient for you. His strength is made perfect in you. He has given you everything you need to overcome in this life. Now is the time to break free and rise to new levels because He has victory and blessing prepared for you. Are you struggling today?

The highest level of greatness is living and working in the true greatness zone, the place of your potential.
I want to remind you that you are full of incredible potential. When God created you, He deposited seeds of greatness inside of you. He’s given you your own dreams and desires. You have something to offer that no one else has. But too often, we allow adversities, disappointments and setbacks to push these things down, until one day, we find that we’re not pressing forward anymore. We’re not stretching; we’re not believing to rise any higher. When adversity comes, it’s easy to think, “Why is this happening to me?” The answer is because the enemy knows what’s on the inside of you. He’s going to do everything he can to keep that seed from taking root. But, he will only be successful if you let him. He can’t stop you unless you quit. During the difficult times, remember that the gifts and callings God has placed within you are still there. Don’t become stagnate in pursuing your dreams. It’s time to get your fire back! It’s time to press forward. It’s time to dig deep inside and take hold of the marvelous destiny God has prepared for you. Are you ready to explore the greatness inside of you today?

Just play your game from your heart, and don’t obsessed about winning. Just play the game to your best ability every play.
When you focus on doing your best and being the best you that you can be, the results will come. In sports we say, don’t watch the scoreboard, play hard every play. We can bring this concept over to your life outside of sports. Don’t be so concerned about the outcome of a situation, just do your absolute best no matter what it looks like. When you focus on what you can do and not on anything else, you will see more clearly. Don’t allow the external factors to distract you from doing what it is you are supposed to be doing. Stay task focused. There are going to be situations and people that try to get you distracted. Stay focused and do your work. You have the capability to make a huge difference in the world. Stay on your task. Don’t let the scoreboard in get your eyes and mind. Keep you eyes and mind on what you are doing. Are you task focused today?
