You may have gone through some horrible, unfair, terrible things in your life. How you respond to them makes all the difference. There is hope, restoration and forgiveness available for you and to you today. Your perspective will determine how you respond to what has taken place in your life. You give power to your past, by changing our perspective you can take that power away. That does say that what happened to you wasn’t tragic or unfair but the outcome does not have to be negative. When you turn that situation around then you can use it for your good and to help others. There are other people that are going through what you have already been through. Take that experience that you already have and help them through it. Help someone else so they don’t have to go through all the difficulties that you had to go through. Have you been through an experience in your life that still has you bound up? Can you receive the restoration that is there for you? Then, can you help someone else that is right where you were to overcome that situation?

What You Serving Up

Compassion, mercy, forgiveness, and love are best served with a dish of hope. What are you serving up today?

For many Khan in Star Trek 2 is their hero as he said to then Admiral James T. Kirk; “Ah, Kirk, my old friend. Do you know the Klingonproverb that tells us revenge is a dish that is best served cold? … It is very cold in space.”  Many people are only looking at what they can get from you or do to you. When you are revenge minded you are only hurting yourself. If you do take your revenge out and hurt someone; then you have hurt yourself and them. Why is it so difficult to show compassion, mercy, forgiveness and love? Those that hurt you are the ones that need it the most. Hurting people; hurt people.  It’s easy to want to be get even or hurt someone; anyone can do that. However, it’s time that we stop living by our feelings and emotions. Take the road less traveled and show that you are not like most people. Show compassion, mercy, forgiveness, love and hope. Be the person that makes a difference in their life.  Do you have someone that has hurt you and you plan revenge dishes for them? How about a change of menu. Would you serve them a warm dish of compassion, mercy, forgiveness, love and hope? What would you like to be served by the ones you have hurt?

Passing People

People passing people. Everyday you pass by people, but do you know what they are going through at that moment?

Driving back home from a visit down in south Alabama, I passed by a man walking on the side of the road. It was in a secluded rural area, about 10 miles from the nearest town. I had not seen a car anywhere on side of the road. However, I didn’t think anything about at that time though. He didn’t look like he was in distress or needed anything. Later on I thought about what I could have done. I had water with me, I could have offered that to him. We pass by people everyday in many ways. Do you really know what they need, what they are going through? What are we doing to help those around us? Don’t do like I did and make it an after thought. Whether you are driving down the road or passing someone in your own home, take time to see what they need. We take it for granted that since they didn’t say anything that all is okay. We have our own agenda and what we need to do in our mind. Today take time to see what you can do to meet the need of that person you pass. Will you take the time to stop and see if you can help meet a need?

Going Up

God’s desire is that we continually progress, that we reach higher heights and go to new levels.

Oftentimes, as soon as we make the decision to step out in faith and obey God, the enemy brings in fear to try to stop us. He’ll bring thoughts like, “What if you fail? What are other people going to think? You don’t have what it takes.” He’ll do his best to use fear to try to convince us to shrink back and stay where we are. The Bible says that fear is a spirit. It plays on our emotions and holds us back. But the good news is that we have power over fear! The Bible says that perfect love casts out all fear. When we receive God’s perfect love, we will have confidence about the future because we know His plans are for our good. I’ve heard it said that fear is an acronym for False Evidence Appearing Real. Understand that fear is a lie. Today, choose to believe God’s Word and receive His love so that you can overcome fear and move forward into the good life He has prepared for you!

Fear Mindset

Many are controlled by fear, worry, doubt and dread. These mindsets will cripple you in many ways.

A fear mindset is talked about in my book Aggie. When you allow the fear mindset to control your life; you will find that it does more than affecting you mentally. A fear mindset will affect you physically too. Fear causes stress that your body was not designed to handle. There is no immune system to fear. The only way to live with fear is the live without it. Fear cripples you from the inside out. We are not talking about being scared, but having fear of failure, success, of doing anything new, and so on. There are countless fear’s that people are attempting to hide and live with all around you. You can sense the fear in a person. Never let fear attached itself to your mind. Fear, worry, doubt, and dread are all connected and feed off one another. None are healthy and none are good for you. Today is the day to begin breaking free of fear. Start listening to the truth and not the fear words that cripple you.  Are you controlled by fear? Are you ready to break away from the stronghold of free today?

Breaking Traditions

When you break tradition, are the first to attempt something, refuse to just be normal or average; you will be ridiculed, laughed at and…

You were not born to just be mediocre or average. Therefore, don’t be surprised when you start doing the extraordinary and above average things in life that everyone isn’t going to be happy. There will those that try to bring you down. They are okay and happy as long as you don’t go above them. By rising to the top you make them look bad. When you start walking in your destiny and doing the things that you were created to do, they will no be happy with you. There will be those that will only be your friend as long as you stay on the bottom and do nothing. When you break out of the average and mundane you will have to let them go. There will real and actual friends there when you make the move. Those that are going the extra mile will be your friend. They are not in competition with you. Are you willing to do what it takes to break tradition and walk in your destiny?

Serious Changes

Sometimes in order to embrace the destiny God has in store, you have to be willing to make some difficult changes in your life.

You have to be willing to examine where you are and what you need to do in order to move forward. This may mean that you need to change some friends you’re spending time with. Maybe they were fine for a season in your life, but you’ve outgrown them. This is a new season, and in order for you to rise higher, you have to break away from relationships that are limiting you. You have to develop some new friendships with people who are going to pull you up and inspire you to rise higher. I’ve found that if you’re the smartest one in your group, your group is too small. Find people who are smarter than you, people who will challenge you to stretch to the next level. Remember, he who walks with the wise becomes wise. Choose your friends wisely so that you can rise higher and walk in the destiny God has for you.

No Fear in Love

When you realize that God loves you unconditionally; then no fear can or will exist in your life.

You may still feel fear from time to time, but the love of God will override those feelings. You don’t live by your feelings. You live by the truth about your life. The truth says that perfect love casts our all fear. God’s love is perfect so “no fear.”  That means that no fear can survive in the presence of God’s love in you. However, you have to know it, believe it, and live it. God’s love is not a feeling, although you do feel it. There will be times when you don’t feel loved, like after you have messed up. His love is unconditional so our mess ups don’t affect it. This is something that many people have a hard time understanding. Thankfully, you don’t have to understand it, you have to believe it. When you start walking and living in the truth of His love then it will become a lifestyle. Don’t wait to be perfect or even good enough. God will meet you right where you are at. Then He will take you to the next level. Be ready for the ride of your life. God’s love is exciting to say the least. You will never be the same when you walk in that atmosphere every minute of every day. Are you experiencing His love in your life today?

Finding Your Place Podcast/Blog

Oftentimes people spend their entire life trying to fit in. Some do it by being the same as others. Some attempt to by being different than others.

I talk about this in Embrace Your Destiny. There is nothing wrong with the desire to fit in with those around you. We all want to be accepted and appreciated for who we are. However, when we compromise what we know is true about us in order to fit in; then something is wrong. There is a place for you, a place where you fit perfectly. If you don’t fit in where you are right now, then it may be you are to go somewhere else. Not necessarily to a place where everyone is exactly like you or even totally different from you. You have to find that place where your place is at. You are needed in that place. You will be accepted in your place. You will most certainly be appreciated in your place. When you are in your place, everyday may not be easy, but the days will be easier. When you are in your place, things just seems to fall into place. That is all part of being in your destiny, your place, your purpose. There is no feeling like being in your place. There is no peace, like the peace there is in your place. The joy, hope, and love that are awaiting you in your place will take you farther than you ever thought you could go. Find your place today, start looking right now. It really isn’t that hard to find. Are you in your place today?

Look Up

God has a place of victory in store for you today! You may be facing challenges. You may look around you and see impossible circumstances.

In the natural, it may look like things won’t ever change. But God is saying today, “Quit looking at your circumstances and look up! Lift up your eyes of faith and look beyond where you are because there is victory as far as the eye can see. Remember, those things you are facing today are only temporary. He’s the God who spoke the world into existence, and He’s the God who set the stars in space. He is more powerful than every obstacle, bigger than any setback, and He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above and beyond what you could ever imagine. Look beyond your circumstances and set your focus in the right direction. Lift up your eyes and look unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of your faith!
