Believe in Yourself

Do you believe in yourself in the middle of adversity?

When you are facing adversity it is a critical time.  This is not a time to doubt yourself. You were made for this time. What situation you are facing right now; know that you are the person to make a difference. Never question “why me?’ but rather ‘why not me?’ Take on the challenge. There is no situation that you can’t handle. There is a reason you are where you are right now. Someone is depending on you to go through what it is you’re going through. Someone needs to see you succeed. You aren’t facing adversity just ‘because.’ You are facing adversity because it’s part of your destiny. Use the situation to make you stronger and better, not weak and bitter. You’re better than any adverse situation you are in today. Make a difference and move on. Know that we are all either just going into adversity, in the middle of it, or just coming out. Adversity is a part of life. Are you ready to be the best you that you can be? Then do what needs to be done. Do you believe in yourself today?

Made Up Mind

There is nothing more powerful than a made-up mind.

Have you ever said to yourself, “I’d be happy if…”? Maybe you’re thinking, “I’d be happy if my spouse treated me better.” “I’d be happy if my boss moved to another planet.” “I’d be happy if I didn’t have to sit in traffic every day.” If you are thinking those thoughts, then you are allowing what you can’t control to sour your life. You have to change your approach. At the first part of the day, before you get out of bed, make the decision that no matter what comes your way, you are not going to get upset. No matter what somebody says, you’re not going to be offended. No matter what interruption or delay, you’re not going to be sour. The key is to decide ahead of time. Then when life happens, when traffic is worse than normal, when your children forget their homework at school, or when your plans don’t work out, it’s no big deal. You’ve already decided that this is going to be the your greatest day ever. Don’t wait until you’re in the heat of the battle. Make up your mind to rejoice no matter what happens. Are you ready for the greatest day ever?

Success Perspective

Without a doubt, your level of success will raise as your self-image improves.

You will never be any more successful than you see yourself. If you see yourself as a failure, barely getting by, not good enough, then that’s what you will be. However, the opposite is also true. When you turn it around, change your perspective and see yourself as a champion, well able, loved, appreciated, successful then you will be. You may say, “But. Coach, nobody else sees me as a winner. Nobody else says that I am good enough.” How do you see yourself?” Doesn’t matter how others see you. What matters the most is how you see yourself. What is your perspective of yourself. God created you for greatness. It may be greatness in your home only or it may be greatness for the world to see. Don’t concern yourself with who sees or knows. Be the person that you were created to be today. See yourself as a person of destiny. Know that you are full of purpose. How do you see yourself today?

Developing Champions

Desire, determination, and attitude set the champions apart from the average.

I am asked all the time; “what does it take to be a champion”? Most expect the answer to be mostly about the physical talent and outward attributes. However, in all of my work and studies. The things that I have seen that make a champion are inside attributes. Desire to be the best you that you can be is key. Also, determination, that ‘never give up’ mindset. Then finally attitude. There are many more characteristics of a champion, but most will fit into those three categories. Working with championship programs and teams has allowed me to see the mindset of a champion. It’s not the most talented that win day in and day out, year in and year out. It is the athlete, the homemaker, the student that will do whatever it takes to better themselves. It is the person that do more than is asked. Are you desiring to be a champion in your life today? Then do an internal inventory and see if you are were you need to be mentally to be a champion. Remember, many are called but few are chosen. Ready to be a champion?

Failure Perspective

Rather than looking at failures as major disappointments, turn the loss into a gain. Change your perspective.

We all have failed at one time or another. I know in my life, I have failed many times. For a long time I had failure mentality. Since I was failing at things I tried to do, I considered myself a failure. If you are in that place today, I want to encourage you to change your thought process. Change your perspective. Just because you fail doesn’t mean you are a failure. Don’t internalize what happened, as to describe and define who you are. Change the way you look at what happened. Learn from the experience. Look at what you did and how you can change and grow. You are not a failure! You only become a failure when you give up and quit. Change your perspective about who you are. See yourself for the who you really are; a champion! You are the one who never gives up! You got this! Are you changing your failure perspective today?

Healthy Competing

It’s easy to be tempted to go through life competing with everyone around us.

When we see someone who’s more talented, better looking or has more gifts, instead of running our race and being comfortable with who we are, oftentimes we feel inferior and think, “I’ve got to catch up to them.” The problem with this unhealthy competition is that it’s a never-ending cycle. There will always be someone ahead of us. But, it’s a very freeing thing when you realize, “I’m not competing with you. I don’t have to have as big a house as my neighbor to feel good about myself. I don’t have to keep up with my co-worker. I don’t have to be a certain size. No, I understand that I’m not in competition with my friend, my neighbor or my co-worker. Instead, I’m going to be the best me that I can possibly be.” Friend, that’s an attitude God can work with. When you focus on being who God made you to be, that’s when you’ll rise up higher and position yourself for every spiritual blessing He has in store for you. Are you being the you that you can be today?

Your Future Plan

No matter what may be happening today, there are great things in store for your future!

It may not be easy to see now, but God has already lined up a new beginning, new friendships and new opportunities for you. Maybe you’ve experienced some setbacks, but don’t make the mistake of expecting the same for your future. Instead, accept God’s good plan for your life by declaring His truth. As champions our attitude should be, “Even though the economy is down, I’m not worried. I know God is going before me, and He has promised He will make rivers in the desert.” Or, “The medical report may not look good, but I have another report that says God is restoring health to me. I believe God has already released healing, health and victory in my future.” Or, you may have a child who is not on the right course. In the natural, it seems impossible. But our report should be, “I know God can do the impossible!” Today, be encouraged and don’t give up on your tomorrows. Accept the good plan God has for you — a plan filled with hope, purpose, blessing and increase in every area of your life! What are you believing for in your life today?

Get Focused

It’s easy to get focused on what’s wrong in life, what we don’t have, and how big our obstacles are.

If we’re not careful, we’ll lose sight of all the good things in our live. We’ll take for granted our family, friends, health and the opportunities we have been blessed with. We’ll get so busy and stressed out that we won’t appreciate the gift of today. What’s happened? Our perspective has gotten off. Perspective is all about how we see a situation. There’s power in your perspective because you will draw into your life what you constantly meditate on. Business may be slow. The economy may be down. The wrong perspective is, “I’ll never make it. It’s just too much.” The right perspective is, “I was created with a purpose, I am loved, appreciated and valuable.” Today, I encourage you to evaluate your perspective. Remember, as you set your perspective in the right direction, your life will follow. What is your perspective today?

Year of Greatness

This year, I believe, is going to be a year of greatness for many people.

Maybe you’ve been facing some difficulties. Remember, great difficulties lead to great victories. Maybe you’ve felt like the storms of life have been blowing against you, trying to hold you back. I believe this year that the winds are changing direction, and now they are going to start propelling you forward. Due season is coming. It’s not time to sit back. It’s not time to let up. It’s time to press forward. It’s time to rise up! Don’t grow weary while doing good. Keep doing good and don’t lose heart because it’s your time, and it’s your season! By faith begin to declare, “2014 is my year! I’m stepping into a new season. I’m letting go of what didn’t work out. I’m putting on a new attitude and enlarging my vision. I’m going to go into this year with a new fire and greater expectancy. I’m pressing forward to step into my season!” Are you ready for a year of greatness?

Seasons of Difficulty

In the Bible, Joseph went through seasons of difficulty.

He was rejected by his family, sold into slavery, lied about, mistreated, abandoned, falsely accused and thrown in jail. But through it all, Joseph never gave up. He kept pressing through and doing the right thing even though the wrong thing kept happening. The Bible says in Psalm 105:18 that as Joseph lay in prison in those chains of iron, his soul entered into that iron. In other words, as Joseph just kept on fighting life through, his soul became as strong as that steel. God developed a supernatural strength in him that no one could take away. If you are going through difficulty today, God wants to increase your strength. He wants to increase your power to overcome. He wants to make your inner man as strong as steel. When you keep standing, keep believing, keep doing the right thing, you are opening yourself to God’s supernatural strength. That’s when you know you are growing in Him. Be strong today. Keep pressing forward because God is at work increasing strength in you so that you can live in victory in every area of your life. Are you going through difficulty today?
