You prepare ahead of time. You read books that have information about the area you are in. You turn your iPod into a library of books. You listen to podcasts and books during your drive time, workout time, break time. You take the time to read the material that is current and up-to-date in your field. Make time to listen to people that have gone before you and are Champions in your sport, career area, or what you are interested in doing. We love to to entertained, but doing the work first. If you are going to be unstoppable, then you have to do the work that is necessary. You have to be able to make the decision on what to do before others. Be prepared, be a Champion! Call It

Don’t call a bad decision a mistake.
We often confuse a wrong call with a mistake. A mistake is when you didn’t know better. A decision good or bad you knew exactly what you were doing. I have made some insane decisions in my life and for a long time called them mistakes. However, life as taught me that you have to call a thing a thing. I own my bad decisions. Some are easier to own up to than others. That’s true with everyone. However, once you get it out there the power that bad decision had over you is broken. When we admit it short comings then no one can use them against you. I highly advise not using people’s bad decisions against them. It is never healthy to be judgmental toward others. What goes around always comes around. Give the benefit of the doubt in every case possible. I understand sometimes it isn’t possible, but it is always possible not to judge others harshly while giving ourself the benefit of the doubt. Many times I know I have judged others by their actions and myself by my intentions. I have learned that this is never healthy in any type relationship. How are you looking at other people’s actions today?

Decisions Decisions

Champions make decisions, not suggestions, they know the answer while everyone else is still asking questions.

If you want to be a Champion you have to be prepared. The Boy Scouts say; ‘Be Prepared.’ Well, a Champion is always prepared. You know what it is you do better than anyone else. For this to happen you have to study, listen and learn. Watch others that have gone before you see how they succeeded and failed along the way. See how they did it and then improve on it. When you do this, when others are asking questions about what to do, you already have the answers to the questions. This also helps you to be decisive. When you come to a crossroads you know the way to go. You have the information to make the decision before you get there. Therefore, a Champion is a person who makes informed decisions when others are still trying to figure out the questions. An unstoppable person is willing to learn in order to be a Champion. Are you in decision making mode today?

Daily Decisions

Our day to day decisions make us who we are to be.

Everyday we are faced with decisions we have to make. Some may seem and may be more important and crucial than others. Always remember that every decision you make not only affects you, but it will in some way affect others around you. Don’t take even the most mundane decision lightly. I’m not saying you have to have to pray or deliberate hours over what shirt or top to wear, but just know that in some way it will affect someone else. Take time to think of others before you make life decisions. Are you making good decisions today?

Let It All Hang Out

How do you recognize a person that is hurting on the inside? How do you know if the person sitting next to you right now is going through a really tough situation? Chances are if you around folk today that most of them are hurting in some way.  There is a chance, too, that it could be you.

It can be hard sometimes to know if someone is going through a valley type situation because we hide it so well.  We don’t want other to know that we don’t have it all together.  We try to keep it a secret and make others think that we are tough.  If we tell someone about our hurts, disappointments and fears then they may think less of us.  Trust me, when we tell them is not when they find out about it.  Most times those that know us already know when we are hurting and they too know fears.  Truthfully though, does it really matter if they didn’t know? What if we were to open ourselves up and expose our inner most parts? Is getting all the mess out worse than dealing with them and living with them every day? For me I thought it was better to keep it all in, but I have realized that it is much better to get it out.  It is true that you have to be careful who you open up to, but find that person. Talk to your spouse, your parents, a teacher, a coach, a pastor. Find that one person you can talk to and be safe.
