Be Hope’s Prisoner

When things get difficult, it’s easy to want to give up.

It’s easy to get down and discouraged. But, that’s not the plan for us. I want us to be so full of hope, so full of expectancy that we just can’t help believing for the best. I want us to be prisoners of hope! When you’re a prisoner of something, it’s like you’re chained to it. In other words, you can’t get away from it. I know people that are prisoners of fear, prisoners of worry, prisoners of doubt. You’ve heard them. “Nothing good ever happens to me.” “It’s never going to change. It’s just been too long.” No, you’re chained to the wrong thing. You need to break those chains and become a prisoner of hope. That means that no matter how long it’s taking, no matter how impossible it looks, our attitude should be, “I just can’t help it. I know it’s going to work out. I know I’m going to overcome. It may be taking a long time, but I know this too shall pass. It may be difficult, but I know that means I’m closer to my victory because I am a prisoner of hope!” Are you a prisoner of hope today?

Staring at Hopelessness

When you seem hopeless, things you can’t explain happen and change your life forever.

I believe that hope may be more important than oxygen to sustain life. You can’t live without either one. However, so many people are still walking around, but without hope, they are dead inside. The amazing thing though, is for someone who is unstoppable, when life seems hopeless, something happens to bring back hope and changes your life. I have been close to the brink of hopelessness and it’s not a good place to be. It is a cold, dark, lonely place. But I knew I could not and would not stop. You have to be relentless in these times. Never allowing giving up to enter your mind. This is where Champions are produced. If you are looking at a situation that seems hopeless; then know that something is about to happen that will turn it around. Your life is about to change for the better. Stay the course. Don’t give up. Be a Champion. Are you staring at hopeless today?

Let It All Hang Out

How do you recognize a person that is hurting on the inside? How do you know if the person sitting next to you right now is going through a really tough situation? Chances are if you around folk today that most of them are hurting in some way.  There is a chance, too, that it could be you.

It can be hard sometimes to know if someone is going through a valley type situation because we hide it so well.  We don’t want other to know that we don’t have it all together.  We try to keep it a secret and make others think that we are tough.  If we tell someone about our hurts, disappointments and fears then they may think less of us.  Trust me, when we tell them is not when they find out about it.  Most times those that know us already know when we are hurting and they too know fears.  Truthfully though, does it really matter if they didn’t know? What if we were to open ourselves up and expose our inner most parts? Is getting all the mess out worse than dealing with them and living with them every day? For me I thought it was better to keep it all in, but I have realized that it is much better to get it out.  It is true that you have to be careful who you open up to, but find that person. Talk to your spouse, your parents, a teacher, a coach, a pastor. Find that one person you can talk to and be safe.
