Be the Server

I don’t know what your destiny is, but I know the only people that are truly happy are the ones that learn to serve others with no agenda.

When we live in peace and unity, it pleases God. When we love and serve others, putting their needs above our own, we are honoring Him. When we carry each other’s burdens, we are fulfilling the law of Christ, which is to love others. What does it mean to carry each other’s burdens? There are many ways to reach out to people and help shoulder their load of life. Just by giving an encouraging word or smile, you can help lighten the load for someone. When you pray and intercede for others in their day of difficulty, you are helping to carry their burdens. Maybe there are other ways to help the people around you. Maybe you can pay for someone’s groceries or give someone cash at the gas pump. Anytime you help others and reach out to those in need, scripture says you are directly lending a hand to God Himself. Today, look for ways to lighten the load for the people around you. Be a burden lifter. Remember, in God’s kingdom what you sow, you shall reap. When you help others, God promises to repay you. He’ll pour out His victory and blessing upon you all the days of your life. Are you serving others today?

All About Others

There are a lot of people who are successful in this world.

They’ve accomplished their goals in the public eye.  However being successful isn’t just about what you make happen for yourself, it’s about what you make happen for others. It’s when you realize, “God has blessed me not to just sit back and let everyone see what I have done; God has blessed me to be a blessing to others. God has helped me to win so I can help somebody else win.” In other words, it’s when you realize, “God helped me overcome this addiction, now I’m going to go find somebody and help them overcome.” Or, “God has blessed me with a happy family. I’m going to go find a family that’s struggling and help them get back on track.” That’s what being successful is really all about. Look for ways to help others succeed. Reach back and give freely of the talents and abilities you’ve been given. Are you helping others be successful today?

Adding to Others

Do you add to people’s lives or do you take away from their lives? If you want to have a quality life, then we must add to others.

When you get to a place where you are secure enough that you don’t look to take from others to meet your needs, but rather you give to others to meet your needs, you know you have made a huge step toward your destiny and purpose.  When you can give away what you have to see that someone else has what they need, you are getting there.  I am not just talking about material, physical things, but even authority, power, ideas, and such.  When you share what you know with others without looking to get anything in return, you are getting closer to your destiny. Look around and find those that need what you have and give it freely without reservation.  Build those relationships, give a hand up to those close to you. Be the difference maker you were created to be today!

Give Me a Break

Today give someone a break, a hand up, hope, forgiveness, smile, and love. Make a person feel like they are appreciated and cared about.

So many times we see people use others to get their way, to make it their goal, to make it to the top.  Today we are going to make a change in that perception. Let’s help others make it their goal. Let’s give those around us a hand up, give them hope, and forgiveness.  I often hear people say, “Will, I ever catch a break?”  Make it happen today. Offer what you have to them; a smile, pat on the back, and appreciation.  People around you right now, just need a little encouragement, a little pick me up.  It’s great to be able to take our minds off our problems, but it is even greater to get our problems completely out of our minds.  Make a huge difference in people’s lives today.  Give a them a break, hand up, hope, forgiveness, smile and a little love. You can change someone’s life today!

Two Questions

What do expect to get out of life? What do you expect to give into life? The answers to these two questions will reveal a lot to you. These answers will answer a bunch of questions you may have been asking yourself.

Most of the time we are looking at what we can get out of life.  For a long time I looked at people from the perspective of what they could do for me.  I never looked at life as to what could I give, but always from the what could I get point of view.  Why not make today the today we start giving and not be concerned with the getting, because when we give we will receive.  When we sow good seed, we will reap a good harvest.  Give without reservation or agenda.  It more than good enough to know that God will take care of His own.  Be a giver into the lives of others and see your own life blessed beyond measure.

Not Disqualified

01 29 11 Saturday

In spite of all the past mistakes we have made in our life; God still has a plan for us.  Don’t be discouraged by your past; be encouraged by your destiny.  We have not been disqualified.

For some of us we have thought that because of past mistakes and wrong decisions; we have been disqualified from our destiny.  This is not true.  Many times it is our mistakes and failures that qualify us for our purpose and destiny.  I have dealt with this in my own life.  There have been several periods in my life that I felt like God had put me on out of the way and forgotten about me.  When I would go through difficult times; I would think that my ever having a purpose or destiny was over.  I know this is not true, but the feeling can be hard to over come at times.  The enemy knows where we are weakest and will try to attack our mind in that area.  Stay focused on what God has said about your future and destiny.  I promise you that you have not been forgotten about or disqualified.  Folk may even try to make you feel that you have been, but it’s not true.  Get back up, learn from your past, and move forward.  I believe in you, standing with you, and counting on you.

Due Season

01 20 11 Thursday

Tired of being frustrated and irritated with your life?  Tired of always being on the outside looking in?  Tired of thinking about what could have been or should have been? Then this is your day.

If we are honest with ourselves and others, we would all say we have been in this place at one time or another.  You may be in that place right now.  I have to really guard my mind against getting in that place.  I walked to of the gym the other day, it was rainy and overcast and I just said to God; “I am tired of being a nobody, a wannabe, average, unnoticed and unappreciated for what I do.” Now you may never feel this way or say that, but I do at times.  It’s not about being in the center of attention or the star, but just knowing that what you do is helping others.  I want to see some good fruit from my work.  I am ready for ‘what goes around comes around’ to be a good thing.  I want to enjoy the reaping what I sow.  I know all in due season.  Frustration and impatience on my part is a sign of pride that has to go.  I want to encourage you today by telling you; you are not unnoticed or unappreciated.  In due season you will see the fruit of what you are doing. God has an awesome plan and purpose for your life.  Give Him His time with you to prepare you.  Be patience; be still, listen and wait on God.  He hans’t forgotten about you. You are in the forefront of His mind.  He is thinking about you all the time.  Your best and greatest days are yet ahead.  Enjoy this season for what it is doing in you.  You are full of awesome, wonderful, marvelous destiny!

Perspective

01 14 11 Friday

The times in life that we are frustrated with life is when we are not living our destiny.  It is not as difficult as it sometimes seems, but it can look complex and complicated when our perspective is out of line.

To say to someone; “You can do anything or be anything you want to be,” is not exactly a good thing.  If they believe they have a destiny designed for them by God then that is what they should do and be.  It may just be semantics, but we have been given a gift and should use that gift for our destiny.  It’s not what we want so much as what God wants for us.  To not want to  follow that plan would be saying that God was wrong or He should change.  Again, this thinking is for the person that believes that God has prepared a destiny for them.  I believe He has prepared a destiny for every person.  I guess it goes to the point of do you God’s perfect will or His permissive will for your life? Some would say there is only His perfect will or not in His will at all.  So it’s really our choice what we do.  Just giving you my thoughts about it today.  I believe each of you that read this is living in your destiny.  It’s an exciting time to be alive. Don’t let anything or anyone discourage you.  Know that God has got your back!
