Simple and Powerful

Simple is powerful, but simple doesn’t mean easy.

KISS; Keep It Super Simple is a profound statement. People tend to think being a Champion is complicated. This is not true. By eliminating distractions and clutter a person becomes unstoppable and relentless. This is very powerful. However, simple is rarely easy. Being a Champion is the hardest thing you will ever do. It is a grind day-in-day-out. To be in this group you have to be able to block out the distractions that come at you. There are always going to be people and circumstances that try to break your focus and complicate your life. This is where keeping it simple pays off. When you try to focus on more than one thing at a time, you focus on neither. Staying aware of your surroundings and what is going on around you is important, but don’t try to be in control of everything at once. Control what you can control and let the rest go. Being a Champion is not complicated, so if your life seems complex today, make some changes. Eliminate what needs to go and focus on what you do best. Keep your life simple will help you become the Champion you desire to be. Is your life simple and powerful today?

The Amazing Life

When you think about your future, what do you see in your mind’s eye?

Maybe at one time you were excited about your life — you had big goals and big dreams, but you went through some disappointments or life didn’t turn out the way you planned and now you’ve just settled where you are. Understand, God’s plan for your life didn’t go away just because you had some disappointments and setbacks or because somebody treated you unfairly. God didn’t write you off just because you made some poor decisions. No, He knew every mistake you’d ever make; He knew every person who would wrong you, and He still called you. He still designed a perfect plan for your life. No matter what’s happened in your past, God’s plan for your good remains. He still has a bright future in store for you. If you will get your hopes back and get your vision in line with God’s Word, then the rest of your life will be the best of your life! Keep standing, keep believing and get a vision for your future because God has amazing things in store for you. Are you ready for an amazing life?

Starting Your Day

It’s amazing how taking a few minutes at the start of each day to plan and set your thoughts in the right direction can help you get ahead and enable you to accomplish so much more.

But too often, people get so caught up in the activity of life that they tend to just “go with the flow” instead. Of course, I’m not saying we shouldn’t be flexible, but when it comes to your life, you should be the one setting the flow. Of course, unexpected things happen. Our days won’t always go according to plan, but if you’ll take time each day to set your heart and mind in the right direction, you’ll be equipped for whatever comes your way! Today I encourage you, make plans to start your day right and set your thoughts in the right direction. Put God first place. Let Him guide you and order your steps. Even if it’s just five minutes a day, make spending time with Him a habit. Plan your day with Him because careful planning is the way to get ahead. Are you starting your day off the right way?

Refill Your Tank

Sometimes, it’s easy to get wrapped up in taking care of the people around us.

You may find that you’re always giving, taking care of the children, working overtime at the office, or helping that friend who is struggling. And that’s all good. But if you’re not careful, you can end up feeling rundown. That’s why you have to take time every day to get filled back up. Your first priority should be taking care of yourself. Take time to read some good “self help” books. Listen to podcasts or books while you are driving each day. Use your workout time to improve yourself mentally as well as physically. Are you taking time to refill your tank each day?

Why Do You Do

Why do I do what I do?

One day while Mother Theresa was changing the dressing on a man’s wound, another man watching said, “I wouldn’t do your job for all the money in the world.” She replied, “Mister, neither would I.” So ask yourself, “Why do I do what I do?” Many people are trying to pursue other jobs, but perhaps all they need is to change the reason or remind themselves why they are performing their present one. One day a man came to me, saying he needed to lose weight, had tried every option, but was unsuccessful. Then, his daughter’s kidney failed. His family had searched the country for a transplant match, until finally, the doctors found one, him! But the doctors said, “We will not take your kidney and place it in your daughter until you lose weight.” In six months the man lost 101 pounds.  Most people who diet forget the reason they are dieting; the reward is to achieve health for themselves and their family. In fact, most people gain weight on a diet because, when they weigh in and find that they have lost weight, they celebrate by overeating. They do not keep the “why” in front of them. Ask yourself, “how can I take this job and be a blessing to others?” How can I serve and help someone keep from an unhealthy, unfortunate and uncomfortable consequence down the road? How can I with this job be my brother’s or my sister’s keeper? When you arrange your job around service, the higher values connect with service, and you will experience higher value as well. You may even find yourself doing jobs that others would never touch – and doing them joyfully. You will learn what many these days have not: the hat few things are as gratifying as meaningful work, that faith without works is dead. And then when perplexed come up and say, “I would not do what you do for all the money in the world,” have your answer ready: “Mister, neither would I.” Why do you do what you do?

Enjoy Life

You have everything you need in order to enjoy your life.

Think about that for a minute. What is keeping you from living life to the full? You may not be in the home you want. You may not have the exact job you would like. Maybe you’re single and really want to be married. If you focus on these temporary things, it opens the door to comparison and frustration. It’s good to have big dreams. It’s good to want to be the best. But if you start comparing yourself to others, it opens the door for the enemy to steal your joy. If you don’t learn to be happy where you are, you’ll never get to where you want to be. But if you’ll choose to be happy, refuse self-pity and refuse to complain, then you are sowing good seeds for you where you want to be in your future. You have a future and a hope. Are you enjoying your life today?

What Do You Want

Most people don’t know what they want, really want.

They think they want prosperity, but what they really want is freedom or power. They believe they want celebrity and fame, but what they really want is to feel recognized and relevant; they wrongly believe they want to be loved by all. But the answer is to go love someone else, and if their heart is big enough, to go love everyone else. Now is the time of year when everybody is thinking, “What do I want for this year?” “What do you want in the spirit, not in the flesh?” But the first thing to ask is, “What do I really want?” What stirs you at night, interrupts your thoughts during the day, disturbs your peace of mind? Most make the mistake of going to a therapist or calling a nurturing friend to try to make that uncomfortable feeling go away. However, existentially, that gnawing feeling has a very specific purpose. To explain the concept dramatically, a commercial airline pilot saw the engine light pop on, so he told the copilot, “Keep flying while I check the engine.” There he saw a mouse chewing at a wire to the engine (that gnawing feeling) so he went back and said, “Take this plane higher.” Then, the plane entered an atmosphere with no oxygen, so the mouse suffocated. In other words, think about that gnawing feeling and where it is taking you! Gnawing equals go higher. What do you want?

Past, Present, and Future

A major part of being a champion is taking ownership of your past, commanding your present, and taking charge of your future.

If you are going to be a champion in whatever field you are in today, you will have to take responsibility for your life. Own your past, whether it is good or bad. Take ownership. Call a thing a thing and own it. If you past is not good, it doesn’t have to define you, but you do have to own up to it. Learn from your past no matter what it looks like. If you don’t learn from the mistakes then you will make them again. Learn from the good past and use the principles to move forward. Being a champion means commanding your present. Be in command of your choices and decisions. Use wise counsel when making decisions, no matter how small or large. You are the sum total of the decisions you have made up to this point in your life.  Being in command of your present will move you forward and closer to your destiny each day. Take charge of your future. By using your past and present you will be in position to take charge of your future. If you aren’t in charge of your future someone else will be. Don’t let others determine the outcome of your life. Take responsibility today for where you are heading. To be a champion you will have to use your past, present, and future in a positive way. No more whining, blaming, fault finding, or being a victim. Today is your day to take the reins of your life. Are you taking responsibility for your life today?
