Hold Fast

I want to encourage you to hold fast in your situation today.

“Hold fast” is not a phrase we often use today. But in its original form, hold fast means not only to embrace, but to embrace with force as if someone is trying to take something from you. In other words, you’ve got to have a firm grip or you’re going to lose out!  I like to think of it sort of like a tug of war. You’re on one end and your opponent  is on the other. He’s trying to pull that rope out of your hand. He’s trying to steal your hope and get you to speak negative words of doubt and defeat. But you’ve got to be determined and stand strong. You’ve got to persevere and hold fast. Don’t let the enemy pull the victory out of your heart! You might need to dig your heals in and get a new grip, but don’t you dare let go! Keep speaking words of truth. Keep speaking words of hope. Are you holding fast today?

Doing the Impossible

Inspire and motivate yourself to make the impossible possible.

So often, people limit themselves in their thinking. They don’t think they’ll ever accomplish their dreams. They start thinking they don’t have the talent, the connections or the money. They don’t think a marriage could ever be restored or they’ll ever get out of debt. But that kind of thinking comes from looking at things in the natural. That’s a limited perspective. We have to realize that you have what it takes to accomplish your destiny. And just because we don’t see a way doesn’t mean that there isn’t a way. God has a plan for your life and He will see it through. Today, I encourage you to take the limits off your thinking. See yourself in the light of who you really are. Don’t let others opinions and thoughts of you stop you from being who you have been called to be. You are no mistake or accident. Your past doesn’t stop your destiny. Be inspired and motivated today and everyday to make a difference. Are you ready to do the impossible?

Refocus

Release negative thoughts and refocus back to the present when you get distracted.

During the 1990’s, Jose Lima was the star pitcher for the Houston Astros. One season, he won 20 games and was considered one of the best pitchers in the league. When the Astros moved from the Astrodome to their new ballpark, the fence in left field was much closer than the fence in the Astrodome. It favored the hitters and made it more difficult on the pitchers. The first time Jose Lima went to the new ballpark, he stood on the mound, looked at the fence, and the first words out of his mouth were, “I’ll never be able to pitch in here. The fence is way too close.” Sure enough, he went from being a 20-game winner to a 16-game loser. It was one of the biggest negative turnarounds in the history of baseball. What happened? He spoke defeat to his future. Today, don’t be beat by the words of your mouth. When negative thoughts come, don’t speak them out; instead, speak life. Speak hope. Speak blessing. Speak what you seek! Speak the truth so you can move forward in the victory prepared for you! Are you ready to refocus on winning?

Performance and Life

Take responsibility for your performance and life.

Whether you realize it or not, God has already given you everything you need to live the life He’s called you to. You don’t need to feel stressed out, worried or afraid. You don’t have to wonder if you’re “good enough” to receive from God because God’s love has nothing to do with your performance. He has already blessed you and given you everything you need. The world’s system tells us to strive, toil and scrape to get what we want. Our culture puts limits on people because of their natural abilities, resources, background or circumstances. But with God, there are no limits! You are equipped, well able and strong. You are covered by His grace and mercy, and you are empowered to do all He has called you to do! The next time you start thinking “I can’t…” or “I don’t have what it takes…,” attack those negative thoughts with the truth by declaring, “I have what it takes; I am well able; and I am equipped by His divine power at work in me!” Are you ready for a life change?

Blessings

Have you thought about the people in your life who need your blessing?

They need your approval. They need to hear you say, “I’m proud of you. You’re going to do great things.” That’s speaking the blessing. That’s releasing a blessing into their future. When you say to the people you love, “I’m so glad you’re in my life. You mean the world to me,” you just gave them the blessing. When you tell one of your employees, coworkers, friend or a student, “You amaze me with your ability. You have such a bright future,” those are not just nice compliments. When you speak the blessing, you’re releasing wisdom, protection, affirmation into their future. You can literally help shape their destiny. One word of encouragement, one word of approval can be what helps them to really step up to who God created them to be. Today, choose to speak the blessing. Sow good seeds into the lives of the people you love. Are you speaking blessings into people’s lives today?

Change of Perspective

Challenge your limiting beliefs and your perspective.

It’s easy to get focused on what’s wrong in life, what we don’t have, and how big our obstacles are. If we’re not careful, we’ll lose sight of all the good things God has done. We’ll take for granted our family, friends, health and the opportunities God has blessed us with. We’ll get so busy and stressed out that we won’t appreciate the gift of today. What’s happened? Our perspective has gotten off. Perspective is all about how we see a situation. There’s power in your perspective because you will draw into your life what you constantly meditate on. Business may be slow. The economy may be down. The wrong perspective is, “I’ll never make it. It’s just too much.” The right perspective is, “I was created with a purpose. I can do this.” Today, I encourage you to evaluate your perspective. Choose focus on the truth no matter what is happening in your circumstances. Remember, as you set your perspective in the right direction, your life will follow. When you keep an attitude of believing the best and expectancy, you open the door for the best to happen to you. What is your perspective today?

Change It

Most people have things in their lives that they want to change — old habits, addictions or something they want to overcome.

The world offers so many “solutions” to improve your life; but really, the only way we are truly changed, the only way to be permanently transformed is by renewing your mind with the truth. We shouldn’t follow the pattern of the world. What is the pattern of the world? It’s the constant striving to do more, be more and have more that only leads to weariness, emptiness and frustration. That’s not what God intends! Instead, focus your thoughts on the truth because when you make the truth your number one focus, something awesome takes place. Only you can control the doorway to your mind. Nobody can do this for you. You choose what you meditate on and what you set before your eyes. I encourage you to stay on the offensive and diligently guard your mind and heart because when you do things God’s way, you get God’s results — life, peace and joy! Are you focused on the truth today?

Survival Mode

So many people today are living in “survival” mode.

They have a mentality that says, “If I can just make it through…” or “If I can just get by…” Of course, there are some seasons that are more difficult than others. Sometimes it’s challenging to get a vision for the future. But if you are constantly living with a survival mentality, you are missing out on your purpose in life. If you are living in survival mode right now, I believe that today can be your turning point. If you’ll take that step and begin to say, “My days of survival are over; my days of winning have begun,” then I believe you will see a turn around in your life. Even if you’re in a tough time right now, remember tough times don’t last, but tough people do. Get out of survival mode and get into success mode today. You were created to much more than just get by. Today is the day you begin to make a difference. Your purpose is too big to set on the sidelines another day. Are you ready to move into success mode today?

Living the High Life

Live in the present moment and live the high life.

So many people today are living overwhelmed, exhausted and overburdened by the pressures of life. They’ve allowed themselves to live on autopilot, day in and day out, not living at their best. Not enjoying their life at all. If that’s you, now is the time to get your fire back! Let me encourage you to press past the things that would try to hold you back. “It’s high time to wake up.” Notice what I said, Not just time but high time. That means it’s incredibly important because you are coming into a destiny moment! You are sitting on the launching pad. God is about to thrust you to a new level! Now is not the time to be passive, sloppy or undisciplined. Now more than ever, it’s time to get focused and start moving forward! Why is this so important? You are closer to seeing that dream come to pass than you’ve ever been. You are closer to meeting the right person, closer to that healing, closer to that breakthrough, win, and solution than you have ever been. You may not be able to see it, but it can see you! Your victory is right around the corner. It’s high time to do what God is asking you to do today. Are you living the high life?

Living Frustrated

Everyone has opportunities to get upset and be frustrated every single day.

Sometimes it’s the little things — we can’t find the car keys, traffic is backed up, somebody was rude, or what should have taken an hour ends up taking four hours. Something happened and now you are frustrated and all bent out of shape. There will always be something that can sour your day, but if you are going to be successful, you have to maintain the right approach. You can’t let the little things trip us up. In other words, don’t let the little things in life stop what God has planned for your future. I’ve heard it said, “Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you respond.” Make sure you respond to life with a positive attitude and the right perspective. Sure, things may irritate you, but don’t let that irritation last into the next moment. Let it go. Don’t try to control everything around you. Instead, release it to God knowing that His plans are for your good. Are you prepared for the best season of your life?
