Nothing Impossible

You are designed so that when something fires your soul, there is nothing impossible.

You have probably heard; when you set your mind to something; there is nothing you can’t accomplish. I do believe that in part. God has designed you in such a way; that when He puts an idea in your mind, which is part of your soul, then nothing can stop you from accomplishing it. Too often, we stop ourselves though. We are fearful that we can’t do it. Fear will interfere with faith every time. Get the fear out of your mind today. Believe in the plan that God has orchestrated for you. He designed you just the way He wants you. Never doubt in yourself again. Check your fear at the door and never pick it back up again. You may be saying; “Scott, I have failed so many times, you just don’t know.” Yeah, I have failed too, but that doesn’t mean you are a failure or that you can’t do it. All you have done is figured out how not to do it. Get back up and don’t give up. I believe in you and the gift inside of you. You are awesome, wonderful and ready to go. Start today! Is there something firing inside of you today that you need to accomplish?

Intentional Purpose

Intentionality is seeing your purpose, putting in front and center in your mind and fulfilling it all day long. You will find what you look for.

Sometimes, it’s easy to look at your circumstances in the natural and think, “I’ve missed my opportunity. I’m too old. It’s too late. I’ve messed up too much.” With God, there’s always another opportunity. He created you on purpose and for a purpose. He’s the one who placed those dreams and desires on the inside of you. He hasn’t given up on those dreams, and you shouldn’t either! It’s never too late for God, which means it’s never too late for you! I don’t know about you, but I have never heard of a single story, not in the Bible nor in our time, where God gave someone a dream and fulfilled it on the same day. No, our lives are designed with seasons and processes to build our faith and prepare us for the next step. It takes faith, it takes obedience, and it takes patience to see God’s promises come to take place. No matter where you are in your journey, just focus on moving forward. God hasn’t given up on you! Trust that He has you in the right place at the right time. Trust that He is working all things together for your good. Trust that new doors are opening. Choose faith and patience, and you will inherit His promises because it’s never too late for you to embrace the good things God has in store for you. Are you being intentional about your purpose today?

Becoming Better

Every day we should wake up and commit yourself to becoming a better person.

You have to make becoming a better person a daily process. It has to be a major part of your process. When you work your process in this manner, you will find that you will become a better person. You will be a better friend, spouse, parent, son or daughter. You will be a better companion. All because you start each day committing to becoming a better person. When we put others first we are on our way. By giving others the benefit of the doubt we are becoming better. Not that you are better than anyone else. But you are bettering yourself. When you choose not to say anything out of anger or spite when someone is mean to you. Being a better person doesn’t mean you let others run over you, but you simply step out of the way as they go crazily by. You see when people are not nice to you, it isn’t because of you, but it is something in them. Maybe they haven’t committed to being a better person each morning. Being a better person will enable you to keep your peace when those around you have lost theirs. Today, your process should include becoming a better person. Is this part of your process?

Bring Out the Good

Good people bring out the good in other people.

Click to listen to podcast

I always tell my daughter to be careful who you hangout with, be mindful of who your closest friends are. The people we are around will rub off on us. We will be like those that we are around the most. If you are around good people than they will bring the good out in you. If you are around negative people then they will bring the negative out that is in you. Choose which you would rather be. If you want to grow, be positive, hopeful, encouraging; then those are the type people you need to be around. If you rather be in some other way, then find those people and spend time with them. You will be like the people you spend the most time with each day. I try to surround myself with people that are growing, improving, process minded. You may not have a choice in who you are around all the time, you do have the choice when it comes to your inner circle of friends. Choose them wisely. Are you bringing out the best in others today?

Insecurity Thoughts

Insecurity is an ugly thing, it makes people hate other people they don’t even know.

When you have unresolved insecurity in your life, you will dislike others that are secure. Insecurity will make you jealous of others. If this wasn’t bad enough, this is even in regards to people you don’t even know. Insecurity will rob you of relationships and potential friendships. You can’t be friends with people when insecurity is controlling your life. Insecurity will make you look at others will a negative perspective. You will always think the worst of others when you have insecurity. You will not be able to look at others for what they really are, for what they offer. Insecurity will cloud your thinking. This is just one of the reasons that insecurity is so terrible. There is no joy, peace, or rest in someone that has insecurity ruling their life.  All the more reason to get insecurity out of your life today. Look at how you think about others, even those you don’t know. Are your decisions being determined by the insecurities in your life? Then make today the last day they control you.  Have you thought negative about someone because of insecurity?

Book Review: The Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren

I was very happy to see that Rick Warren had released his book, The Purpose Driven Life, once again. Warren has added some features that will appeal to the younger generation. Having a day-to-day personal spiritual development guide for forty days, is a must for all generations. If you have questioned, who you are and why you are here, this book is a must for you.  I think we all have asked those questions and Warren does an excellent job of answering them. I would recommend The Purpose Driven Life for all people, all generations.

Mistake Memory Mode

Don’t sit around and try to change your past, when you have your entire future to look forward to, be great today.

When we make mistakes in life, there are three main things that we need to do. First, ask for forgiveness. Second, receive God’s mercy. Thirdly, move forward with your life. Let it go and press ahead. So many people today are still beating themselves down over something they did five years ago. They’ve asked God to forgive them a thousand times, but can’t let it go. They go around living depressed, defeated and feeling unworthy. If that’s you, realize today the price has already been paid. The first time you asked God to forgive you, He forgave you. Now you’ve got to receive God’s mercy and press ahead. That mistake did not change who you are to God. You may have made mistakes today, but you don’t have to stay there. You have too much to live for in your future, to stay stuck in your past. Focus on the now. Focus on what you can be, not what you were. Are you stuck in mistake memory mode?

Change Inspires Change

If you keep doing the same thing and hanging around the same crowd you’ll get the same results. Change inspires change be great today.

I often tell people if you want to get different results in your life, then you have to change something you are doing. Making small changes each day, each week, will add up to big changes. It may take changing something you are doing and/or the people you are hanging out with each day. You will take on the characteristics of the people you are with on a consistent basis. Take a good look at your daily routine. See where you can make some adjustments to it. Maybe getting up earlier and having some study time. Could be you need to make some dietary changes. The thing is, when you make a change, then you make another; it gets easier. Not easy, but easier. Change will build on change. Look at your inner circle of friends. Are those people making you better? Are they challenging you each day to be better? If not then it’s time to make a new inner circle of friends. You will either get better each day or you get worse each day; there is no staying the same. Is there something you need to change today?

Be Positive

Don’t worry about what others think, their will always be people who are negative, don’t let it bother you keep your mind right.

There will always be negative people around. No matter is going on they have a negative perspective. They have plenty of reasons as to why they are negative. Many even reject the thought that they are negative. Being a positive person, it doesn’t take long to spot the negative people. They seem to have a cloud over them all the time. It’s never sun shining on them. There is always something wrong. Nothing is ever right. You can’t let negative people affect your mindset. Don’t let their negativity affect your process. Keep your mind free and clear of their negative influence. Keep the correct perspective. Yes, bad things do happen, but it’s all in how you see them and evaluate them. Use the negative things in life to change you in a positive way. Be positive today in a negative world. Make a difference in those around you. Even those that are negative will see you are different. Be the positive perspective that we all need. Are you being a positive in a negative world today?

See Yourself

What you consistently see in your mind you will consistently find.

If you always see yourself as a goofball, a failure, a nothing; then despite all the awesome gifts you have, you will end up just like you see yourself. If you see yourself as a success, a difference maker, a champion, then no matter what obstacles you face, you will end up the way you see yourself. The way you see yourself on a consistent basis is what you will be. Even when you’re not a failure, you will find ways to fail. When you see yourself as not loved, no matter how much people love you; you will find a way to turn away their love. I have found in my own life at times that I would sabotage relationships. I didn’t think I deserved to be loved or cared about, so I would find a way to sabotage what was there. It took changing how I saw myself in my mind to change that. Now I am able to have a wonderful marriage and other friends, because I see myself as a great husband, wonderful father, and good friend. I am always working on being better at each. It all goes back to how I see myself though.  How do you see yourself on a consistent basis?
