Correcting Mistakes

Recognize when you have make a mistake and use it as an opportunity to improve.

So often, when people make mistakes, they get down on themselves and think, “If only…” “I should have…” “What if…?” It’s easy to feel like you’ve missed the best plan for your life. That’s when people get discouraged and stop pursuing their God-given dreams. But understand today, just because you’ve made a mistake or failed in some way, that doesn’t cancel God’s plan. God never disqualifies you. He never says, “Go sit on the sidelines. You’ve blown it too many times. You’ve got too many weaknesses.” No, God always gives you another chance! Some of the great people in history made very poor choices.  What am I saying? Our mistakes, our failures, our poor choices don’t have to keep us from our God-given destiny. With God, it’s not about the way you start in life, it’s about the way you finish. Receive His grace today and embrace the bright future He has in store for you! Are you learning from mistakes today?

Motivating Focus

Focus on your journey in life; you will not have time to think about mistakes. Keep looking to your motivating factors.

As long as you are trying you will make mistakes, there will be some failures along the way. However, don’t focus on those, but focus on what motivates you. Stay motivated by the positive factors in your life. Truth, even when we don’t like it, is positive. Let truth, then, be your motivating factor. I used to think, if I am operating in my gift, walking out my destiny and living with purpose that I would not make any more mistakes. That was a huge mistake! I had only begun to make mistakes, however, I had to keep focused on what was important. That what is who, people are important. I have hurt, disappointed and angered a lot of folk in my life, but at least now its not on purpose. I still make mistakes, fail and make bad choices. The difference now is the focus and the getting back up and trying again. Today is a great day in your life. You’re not alone in your life and stuff you are going through. We are all in this thing together. Make today a pivot day. Make the changes necessary to get your focus right. Are you focusing on your motivating factors?

The Past is Past

When my pain was at its worst, I found peace in the belief that God had a plan for my life and that’s why I am still here.

Too often, people spend so much time and energy dwelling on the past, dwelling on mistakes, or dwelling on disappointments. They don’t even realize that their focus is keeping them from moving forward in life. But in order to fully experience God’s best, you have to let go of those past hurts; you have to forget the old things to make room for the new. God has a new beginning in store for you, and the way you prepare for it is by getting rid of the old. Don’t spend time focusing on where you’ve been; spend time focusing on where you’re going. When you “forget the former things,” it means you’re not worried about the past anymore. You don’t allow it to dictate your future. You may remember past events, but you don’t feel the pain like you used to. You’ve opened your heart to receive God’s healing. Begin today by declaring that your past is over! Forget the former things and receive the restoration and victory God has in store for you. Have you moved past the past?

Mistakes

I hear people say, “Scott, I’ve just blown it so many times. I had this major mistake. I don’t see how I could ever get to where I’m supposed to be.”

But we have to realize — our mistakes aren’t that powerful. Our mistakes aren’t too big for God. He’s not up in the heavens shaking His head saying, “I never dreamed they would do that. They’ve ruined My plan.” No, God knew every mistake we would ever make. He knew every wrong turn, and He’s already prepared a new route. He already has your detour figured out. The Bible says that God knows the end from the beginning. If you’ve made some mistakes, the good news is that He has already planned a way to get you back on track. Just come to Him with an open and humble heart. Let Him wash you clean and make you new. Your mistakes aren’t bigger than God. He loves you and has a good plan in store for you. Are you ready to start fresh today?

When we make mistakes in life, there are three main things that we need to do. Number one, ask for forgiveness. Number two, receive God’s mercy. And number three, move forward with your life. Let it go and press ahead. So many people today are still beating themselves down over something they did five years ago. They’ve asked God to forgive them a thousand times, but can’t let it go. They go around living depressed, defeated and feeling unworthy. If that’s you, realize today the price has already been paid. The first time you asked God to forgive you, He forgave you. Now you’ve got to receive God’s mercy and press ahead. That mistake did not change who you are to God. You may have made mistakes today, but still have God’s plan for your life intact. You are still the apple of God’s eye. You are still His most prized possession. God may not be pleased with every action, but He is pleased when you receive His forgiveness by faith. Are you still holding on to past mistakes rather than holding on to your destiny?
