Focusing Love

One thing that knowledge and experience have helped me with is determining what is worth focusing on.

So often, it’s easy to get caught up in our to-do lists of life. You might even have a spiritual checklist in your mind of all the things you think you need to do in order to please God. And we should have the desire to please Him and follow His commands, but pleasing Him starts with our heart condition. Scripture tells us in 1 Corinthians that only faith, hope and love will last into eternity. We can’t have faith unless we first have hope, and our faith won’t work without love. The point is that we have to remember to adjust our focus and make sure that we aren’t just going through the motions in our spiritual walk. We can do a lot of “good” things, too. But if we don’t have love, they won’t matter in eternity. We can have a lot of knowledge, but if we don’t have love, it won’t do us any good. However, when love is the foundation for everything we do, it honors God and opens the door for the life of victory in blessing He has prepared for you. Are you focusing on your love walk today?

Confidence

Trust can reduce mental clutter, give focus, and provide confidence.

One thing I’ve learned is that God doesn’t always work on our time table. In fact, He rarely does. But, in a single moment, God can change your life! All throughout the Bible, we see examples of how God was working behind the scenes and instantly turned things around for His people. The Bible tells us He is the same yesterday, today and forever which means if He did it for them, He can instantly turn things around for you, too! You may be going through some difficulty today, but be encouraged because your times are in God’s hands. Trust that He has your best interest at heart. He wants to pour out His favor. He wants to take you further than you dreamed possible and work in your life in ways beyond what you have ever imagined. Let this truth sink down into your heart today. Resist discouragement by speaking His Word over your future. Keep standing, keep hoping and keep believing because He is working behind the scenes. Have faith because your times are in His hands, and He will lead you in the life of victory He has for you! Are you confident today?

Motivating Focus

Focus on your journey in life; you will not have time to think about mistakes. Keep looking to your motivating factors.

As long as you are trying you will make mistakes, there will be some failures along the way. However, don’t focus on those, but focus on what motivates you. Stay motivated by the positive factors in your life. Truth, even when we don’t like it, is positive. Let truth, then, be your motivating factor. I used to think, if I am operating in my gift, walking out my destiny and living with purpose that I would not make any more mistakes. That was a huge mistake! I had only begun to make mistakes, however, I had to keep focused on what was important. That what is who, people are important. I have hurt, disappointed and angered a lot of folk in my life, but at least now its not on purpose. I still make mistakes, fail and make bad choices. The difference now is the focus and the getting back up and trying again. Today is a great day in your life. You’re not alone in your life and stuff you are going through. We are all in this thing together. Make today a pivot day. Make the changes necessary to get your focus right. Are you focusing on your motivating factors?

No Self Pity

Stop wasting time pitying yourself, when you think times are tough. Instead, decide to do something about the tough times you are in.

What are you letting arise in your life today? In other words, what are you focusing your words, energy and thoughts on? You might say, “Scott, it’s just so hard right now. I’ve lost some money.” “My health doesn’t look good.” “Somebody walked out on me.” No, you’re focusing on the wrong things. You’re letting defeat, discouragement and self-pity rise up. Why don’t you turn that around and say, “God is still in control. Somebody may have walked out on me, I may be hurting right now, but I know God love me.” I may have lost money in the stock market, but I’m not worried. I know God is my provider.” Never let the negative, self-pity thoughts take over your mind. Stand up today and take control of your thoughts. Focus on the truth. Peace is yours today. Are you focusing on truth today?
