Performance

Proper preparation prevents bad performance.

Everyone goes through seasons of waiting. A lot of times, people just sit back and wait for God to do everything. But, you have to remember to do your part and make preparations. You have to talk like it’s going to happen and act like it’s going to happen. Some people might say, “Well, Scott, what if I do this and it doesn’t happen?” But I say what if you do and it does happen? And even if things don’t turn out the way you had hoped, you’d still be better off living your life positive and hopeful than you would to go around down and discouraged. I love what David said in the Bible, “God, my times are in Your hands.” He was saying, “God, I don’t know when it’s going to happen, but I know You know what’s best for me.” I’m going to go out today expecting good things. And even if it doesn’t happen, I’m not going to go to bed all disappointed. I’m going to go to bed knowing that I’m one day closer to seeing my dreams and desires happen. Are you preparing today?

Worry

By worrying you are actually praying for what you do not want.

So many people today live with stress, anxiety, pressure and worry, but that’s not God’s plan for your life. He wants you to live in peace, confidence and rest in hope. Think about that for a moment. How can you rest in hope? It’s sort of like when you’re watching the replay of your favorite ball game. You already know the outcome. You don’t have to worry about what’s happening, you just enjoy the plays. The same is true in life. When we know God’s Word, when we obey His commands, then we know the outcome for life. We know that He is always for our good. We know that He has plans to prosper us, not to harm us. Don’t waste another second of your life worrying. Are you ready to live in hope today?

Moving Out

Look forward. Discouragement, resentment, guilt, and depression are emotions connected with looking at the past–what you are coming from.

Where have you pitched your tent today? In other words, what are you expecting to happen in your life this year? What kind of attitude do you have? If your thoughts are stuck and you’re focusing on what’s wrong or what’s not working, then it’s time to dig up your tent stakes! It’s time to pack up your belongings and move out of the land of discouragement. It’s time to move out of the “Not-going-to-happen.” It’s time to pack your bags and move into the land of hope, faith and expectation! Every time you catch a negative thought and choose to dwell on God’s promises, it’s like you are packing your bags. Every time you declare God’s faithfulness, you are taking a step in the right direction. The Bible says that those who hope in the Lord will never be put to shame. As you turn your focus toward your process, you are pitching your tent in the Land of Hope — a land where His peace, blessing and victory are all staying. Where are you living today?

No Fear No Frustration

Don’t consult your fears, but your hopes and dreams. Don’t think about your frustrations, but your potential.
You have a choice today, to either look to your fears and frustrations to determine your life or your dreams, hope, and potential. You have more control of your life than you may think you do. Many people hand that control to others, but truth remains, they had to give the control away. When you look at your life, be sure that you are looking that positive factors. Look to your hope, investigate your dreams, and evaluate your potential. Your fears and frustrations will rob you of your purpose and steal your destiny. Make sure your hopes and dreams are built on a solid foundation. See the potential that is waiting in your gift. Everyone has a positive future, but it is up them each one of us to see that future through. Even when fear, and frustration tries to gain control of your mind, think on the truth. Be the person that you were created to be. Begin to make those changes today. Get your hopes up, give life to your dreams again, see the power in your potential. Are you ready to change your life today?

Hope Lives

If you lose hope, you will not be looking for solutions and will miss them even if they pass right in front of you.

There can nothing worse than a person who has lost hope. The next thing they lose is life. Death will is the next step for someone that has lost their hope. When you lose hope you give up. When you give up you naturally stop looking for solutions to situations you are facing. In particular, the situation that has caused you to lose hope. You may be facing something today that has been stealing your hope little by little. Don’t give up on hope. No matter what it looks like right now, hope is your lifeline. Stay with hope. Keep a tight grip on hope. It doesn’t matter if there doesn’t look like there is any hope. Hope is there, even when it looks like all is gone. Just because everyone may have left and turned their back on you, hope is still alive. If you have lost your hope today, then revive it. Keep your hope back. Believe in hope. Believe that your situation will improve. If not the situation, then believe you will improve. In any case, don’t lose hope. Be strong today. You are not alone. Are you needing to hope regain your hope today?

Many people today don’t realize that the reason they’re not happy, the reason they’re not enjoying life is simply because they’ve trained their minds in the wrong direction. They’ve trained their minds to worry. They’ve trained their minds to complain. They’ve trained their minds to see the negative. Just as you can form these negative mindsets, you can retrain your mind and have a process mindset. I believe one of the main keys to retraining your mind and developing a positive attitude is by learning to get hope and process minded. When you have this mindset, you are focusing on what’s right rather than what’s wrong. The seed of the hope takes root in the good ground of your heart. This doesn’t happen automatically, you have to discipline yourself. You have to make a conscious effort every single day until a good habit is formed. The seeds of discouragement cannot take root in a hope and process focused heart. Neither can bitterness, envy or strife. Do you have hope today?

Developing Your Process

Hope is wishing something would happen. Faith is believing it will happen. Courage is making it happen.

As you work your process you move from level to level, from standard to standard. Among these are hope, faith and courage. One is not better than the other, but each is vital to your process. When you start with hope, then nothing can stop you. You start seeing it happening in your mind, before it every is visible. Then hope grows into faith. Faith is the believing it will happen before you see it. Notice that two of the three are before you ever see it.  The foundation to your process is before you can see it. This is also the reason why so many people never make it. If you have to see it on the outside before you can believe it, then you won’t make it. You have to have a mental picture of your process on the inside way before you see it on the outside. Last you move to courage. Courage is having the heart to make it happen. Courage is what you grow to when you stood the test of time. The test of seeing it internally before you saw it externally.  Courage will take you the rest of the way of your process. Without courage you won’t flesh out your dream, your mental process, your vision. It takes courage then to be vision, process minded and not just results minded. Develop your hope, faith and courage today by working your process. How are you today in your process; hope, faith and courage?

Speaking Hope

Having hope is like a drink of cool water on a hot day. Never take away hope from a person.

There have been several seasons in my life when all I had to sustain me was hope. However, hope is a powerful force that will keep you going when all else is gone. There are many of you that could tell your story of how hope kept you alive during a difficult situation. There are some of you right now that are holding on the hope will all you got. Don’t let go! If you come into contact with someone that is struggling and hope is keeping them alive, don’t you take their hope away. Just because you aren’t in a that position right now does not give you the right to do so. If you can’t say something helpful, positive, and encouraging, then just keep your big blamed mouth shut. I have been a person that would kick the hope out from under people. I am sorry to have to admit that, but it’s truth none the less. Today, I speak hope to you. If you are struggling, there is hope for you today. Don’t give up, don’t give in, hold on to that hope until you win! Go to that person you are thinking of right now and speak into their life, apologize if you need to and then give them a hand up. Be a speaker of hope to someone today!

Hope Dealing

When your dreams meet reality; choose hope. Hope is worth fighting for and worth believing in.

When you don’t have hope you will lose your desire to live. Hope is the one thing that keeps many people going from day to day. Without hope people give up on their dreams. When reality comes crashing in on you, hope is the only thing that will keep you. Hope is not thought about so much when all is going great. It is when you hit those difficult times in life that hope becomes more evident. Hope will enable you to go through situations you never thought you would make it through. There are people in your life right now that have lost out on hope. Step into their world and share the hope they need so desperately. Hope is one thing that you will find worth fighting for in your life. Never let anyone steal your hope and never give it away. Hope at times will be as vital as oxygen to your body. Fight for it, protect it, and share it with others. Be a hope dealer not a hope stealer. Was there a time in your life when you lost hope? Is there someone in your life right now that is fighting to hold on to their hope? Can you be a hope dealer today?

What You Serving Up

Compassion, mercy, forgiveness, and love are best served with a dish of hope. What are you serving up today?

For many Khan in Star Trek 2 is their hero as he said to then Admiral James T. Kirk; “Ah, Kirk, my old friend. Do you know the Klingonproverb that tells us revenge is a dish that is best served cold? … It is very cold in space.”  Many people are only looking at what they can get from you or do to you. When you are revenge minded you are only hurting yourself. If you do take your revenge out and hurt someone; then you have hurt yourself and them. Why is it so difficult to show compassion, mercy, forgiveness and love? Those that hurt you are the ones that need it the most. Hurting people; hurt people.  It’s easy to want to be get even or hurt someone; anyone can do that. However, it’s time that we stop living by our feelings and emotions. Take the road less traveled and show that you are not like most people. Show compassion, mercy, forgiveness, love and hope. Be the person that makes a difference in their life.  Do you have someone that has hurt you and you plan revenge dishes for them? How about a change of menu. Would you serve them a warm dish of compassion, mercy, forgiveness, love and hope? What would you like to be served by the ones you have hurt?
