Think Positive

You will be surprised how positive thinking impacts your performance.

Whether you realize it or not, God has already given you everything you need to live the life He’s called you to. You don’t need to feel stressed out, worried or afraid. You don’t have to wonder if you’re “good enough” to receive from God because God’s blessing has nothing to do with your performance. He has already blessed you and given you everything you need by His divine power! The world’s system tells us to strive, toil and scrape to get what we want. Our culture puts limits on people because of their natural abilities, resources, background or circumstances. But with God, there are no limits! By His divine power, you are equipped, well able and strong. You are covered by His grace and mercy, and you are empowered to do all He has called you to do! The next time you start thinking “I can’t…” or “I don’t have what it takes…,” attack those negative thoughts with the truth by declaring, “I have what it takes; I am well able; and I am equipped by His divine power at work in me!” Are you thinking positive about your performance today?

Truth

If you get to a place where your thoughts are concrete, simple, and focused, and you take deliberate action, then your thoughts become reality.

Transforming something in your life whether it’s your attitude, mindset, financial situation or bringing change into a relationship can seem like an overwhelming task. But as the old saying goes, “How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time.” The way you change your life is one thought at a time. Your thoughts set the direction of your life. If you need to change the direction you are headed, you simply need to change your thoughts in that area. When a thought comes to your mind that “you’re never going to get well; this is your lot in life,” don’t dwell on that. Don’t sit around and have a pity party. No, immediately reject it and replace it with the truth. I encourage you to be aggressive in taking every single thought and making it stand in truth. Stay determined, stay focused and keep stating the truth because you can change your life, one thought at a time. Are you shaping your thoughts by the truth today?

Offense

If you harbor thoughts about being offended, then your eyes are on the look for offense.

Every day, we have opportunities to get upset, be frustrated, or get offended. Maybe you had plans that didn’t work out, or someone was rude to you at the office. Maybe you were doing something that should have taken one hour and it ended up taking three. Life is full of inconveniences, but even though we can’t always control our circumstances, we can control our reaction. I heard somebody say, “Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you respond.” We should always go out each day with a positive attitude, full of hope. But at the same time, we should recognize that most days are not going to go exactly as we plan. Remember, we were created to live in peace. Peace is our position of power. If you get stressed because you got off schedule or upset because your child wouldn’t eat his breakfast, or frustrated because somebody offended you, what you’re doing is giving away your power. Instead, make the decision to release those offenses and disappointments so you can live in peace and enjoy the day as the blessing God prepared for you. Are you living offended or free?

Thought Life

You first must not let the weeds of negative thoughts take hold and strangle your vision.

Many people today don’t realize that the reason they’re not happy, the reason they’re not enjoying life is simply because they’ve trained their minds in the wrong direction. They’ve programmed their minds to worry. They’ve programmed their minds to complain. They’ve programmed their minds to see the negative. But just as we can train our mind to focus on the negative, we can also reprogram our minds to focus on the positive. It all depends on what you meditate on. When we meditate on positive, truthful thoughts we reprogram our minds. When we meditate on God’s goodness, we are developing a right mindset. When we choose to be grateful and focus on what’s right rather than what’s wrong, we are choosing a positive attitude. This doesn’t happen automatically; you have to discipline yourself to focus on the right things. You have to make a conscious effort to spend time in the Word of God every single day until a habit is formed. I believe that as you honor God with your time, He’ll multiply it back to you. As you stay faithful and focused on Him, He will direct your steps, and you will embrace the blessing and victory He has in store for you. Are you thinking positive thoughts today?

Mind Expansion

The greatest challenge you will ever face is that of expanding your mind.

So many people today are not really enjoying their lives because of the condition of their minds. They constantly dwell on negative, destructive, harmful thoughts. They don’t realize it, but the root cause of many of their problems is simply the fact that their thought life is out of control. They just dwell on any thought that comes. More than ever, we have to understand that our lives follow our thoughts. If you think negative thoughts, then you’re going to live a negative life. If you think discouraging, hopeless thoughts, can’t-do-it thoughts, mediocre thoughts, then your life is going to go down that exact same path. That’s why we have to take captive every thought and renew our minds with the Word of God on a daily basis. I want to challenge you today to think about what you’re thinking about. Don’t let those self-defeating thoughts linger in your mind. Instead, speak God’s promises over your life. Say what He says about you. Take captive every thought and renew your mind daily. As you do, you’ll be empowered to move forward into the abundant life He has for you! Are you speaking the truth today?

Speak What You Seek

Right outward talking with wrong inward thinking will not bring good results.

During the 1990’s, Jose Lima was the star pitcher for the Houston Astros. One season, he won 20 games and was considered one of the best pitchers in the league. When the Astros moved from the Astrodome to their new ballpark, the fence in left field was much closer than the fence in the Astrodome. It favored the hitters and made it more difficult on the pitchers. The first time Jose Lima went to the new ballpark, he stood on the mound, looked at the fence, and the first words out of his mouth were, “I’ll never be able to pitch in here. The fence is way too close.” Sure enough, he went from being a 20-game winner to a 16-game loser. It was one of the biggest negative turnarounds in the history of the Astros. What happened? He prophesied his future. Today, don’t get snared by the words of your mouth. When negative thoughts come, don’t speak them out; instead, speak life. Speak hope. Speak blessing. Speak what you seek! Speak the truth so you can move forward in the victory He has prepared for you! What are you speaking today?

Mind Training

Many people today don’t realize that the reason they’re not happy, the reason they’re not enjoying life is simply because they’ve trained their minds in the wrong direction.

They’ve trained their minds to worry. They’ve trained their minds to complain. They’ve trained their minds to see the negative. But just as you can form these negative mindsets, you can retrain your mind according to the truth and form godly mindsets. I believe one of the main keys to retraining your mind and developing a positive attitude is by learning to stay grateful. When you stay grateful, you are focusing on what’s right rather than what’s wrong. The seed of the truth takes root in the good ground of your heart. This doesn’t happen automatically, you have to discipline yourself. You have to make a conscious effort every single day until a good habit is formed. The seeds of discouragement cannot take root in a grateful heart. Neither can bitterness, envy or strife. So today, retrain your mind and be empowered with His strength to overcome in every area of your life. Are you training your mind in the right way today?

Changing Mindsets

Circumstances don’t determine your value, your worth. If you think you’re not good enough, your world will confirm that in your mind.

I have often said, “You are more than good enough.” However, if you look at your situation, listen to what the world is saying, or what you sometimes feel about yourself, then you will believe the lie. The lie being, ‘you are not good enough.’ There are many voices today that will try to convince you that you will never amount to anything, that you are a failure, a mistake, a waste of time. This is a lie, yet if not careful, you will believe it. When we are in a situation when things are not going right, we start to slip back into those negative mindsets. Reverse the negative thoughts, you are more than good enough, you have what it takes, you are valuable, you are cared about, you are a winner. Don’t let the circumstances determine your value or worth. Know the truth about yourself. Even if its hard to believe, the truth will begin you out of that negative mindset. Be a champion today! Are you needing to change some mindsets today?

You Got the Goods

You are so blessed! You are awesome! You are wonderful, more than able, you are a person of destiny.

You were born with a purpose for your life. You were created full of destiny. You have a specific gift and talent. There is something that you do that no one else in the world can do just like you do.  You were born at a destined time and place to fulfill your destiny.  You have all you will ever need inside of you to finish your purpose. There is no one that is not good enough to have a purpose. You are smart, capable, and just the right person to get it done.  Never let anyone talk you out of your destiny.  Don’t stop learning, growing, stretching out of your comfort zone. When we step out into our purpose, our destiny it can be scary, but that’s also the fun part.  It is an adventure, it’s exciting, it’s like nothing else you have ever experienced.  Don’t sell yourself short, don’t doubt in who you are and what God has placed in you. God will make a way where you don’t think you make it. God will open doors you never saw before.  Take the first step toward your destiny and get ready for the adventure of your life.

Positive Words

Our words play a major role in determining our destiny. What you keep saying will be your focus and where you end up. Make sure you talk what your destiny in a positive way.

We need to be speaking words of affirmation, encouragement, positive, building up words.  Just listen to those around you and hear what they are saying. Most people today are talking negative, self-depreciating, defeated words.  They are talking about how they will never make it, never get out of debt, never be healthy, never have a good marriage.  Trouble is, that is right where they end up.  Just because you may be in that place right now, don’t talk it, begin to speak words of life into your situation. Say what the Word of God says about your life. Begin to see yourself healed, healthy, in a great marriage, debt free, finishing school, in a great job.  Start to talk about having the life God wants you to have.  Change your words, change your world.  You give life to your faith with what you say.  Today begin blessing your life with your words rather than cursing your life with your words. Rather than complain; start to compliment. You hear every word you say and you believe what you say about you; so make it positive, up lifting words. You will see your life go to a whole new level.  Today is your day; begin speaking life!
