Just Around the Corner

I am excited about the coming of 2011.  I truly believe this new year, this new decade will be the greatest we have ever seen.  There are opportunities just around the corner, not just for me but for you too.  Get ready to see your life change in awesome ways.

You may be wondering what I am so excited about.  I really sense and feel like your best year is just around the corner.  I know this is going to be a great time for us all.  There has been so much happen to us all in the past few years, that has prepared us for what is coming.  If you are graduating high school, college, or hard knocks then this is your time.  Age, race, sex, religion has nothing to do with who is going to have a great year.  It is for those that are expecting.  Just like when a woman is expecting a child.  She and the family prepare, they get everything ready.  I am saying the same for us now. Start getting yourself ready for the coming of something awesome.  Prepare your heart, mind and body.  Don’t what is in store for you.  Remember the opportunity of a lifetime must be grasp during the lifetime of the opportunity.

Be Inspired

From time to time I like to let you know how awesome you are.  I think you probably have picked up on that by now.  Today though it has really been welling up strong in me to let you know how wonderful you really are.

You are full to the point of running over with destiny.  There is greatness all inside of you just waiting to be released.  I didn’t say you may feel it, but it is there.  You have an incredible, fantastic gift inside of you.  You have a destiny like no one else.  You have purpose in this world.  You were born for just this time.  You were not a mistake.  You were created with a specific and awesome reason.  You may not know what that is just yet, but that does negate your identity or significance.  Don’t doubt in yourself. Don’t think your not good enough.  God made you and that makes you more than good enough.  You have “it”! You got to believe in yourself.  Have confidence in your ability to get the job done.  No one can do what you do just like you do.  Take your place in time.  Live your destiny.  Never let anyone put you down or make you feel inferior.  Insecurity will not determine how we look at ourselves any longer.  You are most incredible.  You are most worthy.  You are valuable. Today is your day for greatness!

Jimmy V

It’s this time of year that in college basketball there is the Jimmy V challenge.  Coach Jimmy Valvano coached the North Carolina State team to the National Championship in 1982-83 season. He died of cancer ten years later.  During his treatment his message to us was; “Don’t ever give up.” That message still stands strong today.

I have written many times about not giving up.  We are so close to something great, awesome and powerful in 2011.  We have to be sure and stay persistent in our destiny, others are depending on us.  We have to stay the course, if you will. Your life does make a difference.  It does not matter if you are male or female, your race, your religion, your age, or where you live.  You make a difference.  Without you in the world there is a void that no one can fill.  The fact that you are here today means you still have destiny in you. Don’t give up, don’t take yourself out of the game.  Don’t allow someone else to talk you out of your destiny.  It happens all the time. We allow others to stop us.  Listen, even if you are still in high school and think you have to wait until you have graduated and maybe went to college before you start living; you are living your destiny right now.  You make a difference today! You are so awesome, valuable, and worthy of recognition. You do have a destiny, purpose, and reason for living.

Hope or Wish

I think sometimes we confuse wishing for hoping.  It may just be semantics but there is a big difference between wishing for something and hoping for something.  Wish is build on nothing, but hope when established on a strong foundation is the very stable and very strong.

We have all heard, “Don’t wish your life away,” at some time or another.  That is a very good word of wisdom.  We wish things would get better, we wish we could get a spouse, a job, a boyfriend or girlfriend, out of school, out of the house and so on.  Wishing though is just going to leave us empty when the time does arrive.  We have to hope.  What is the difference between hope and wish? It’s all in what it is based on.  When wishing is based on the right thing, then I can see where it becomes hope.  When hope goes over into areas that we have no foundation in; then it becomes wishing.  For me, my hope is build on the Word of God and He has said through it.  I build my hope in God.  Do I miss it? Yes, but it is very hard to miss God.  All of this to say; let’s be careful that we are not wishing.  Build your hope.  Get your hopes up.  At the same time make sure that your hopes are genuine and build on the right foundation.

Sharpen the Axe

It is common this time of year to write out a Christmas list; whether for what we want or for what others want.  The idea is to give and get a gift that we don’t have or the other person doesn’t have.  No use in asking for or getting something we or they already have.

Staying with the same thought process; we may be asking for something we already have when it comes to our gift/talent for our destiny.  Everything we need for our destiny is inside us.  It does take developing our gift/talent.  When we do our part; then God is going to do His part.  He has already started the destiny process in motion though.  Even before our birth the process was in motion.  We have to look at the bigger picture.  Our destiny is not just about us; we are about serving others.  The gift/talent we have is to help solve someone else’s problem.  In doing this, we live our destiny.  We all fit together perfectly when we operate in our destiny.  Start sharpening your axe today.  Discover your gift/talent and see how it fits with you destiny.  Take the time then to develop your gift/talent and your life will never be the same again.

Be the Change

We are starting week two of the last month.  Can you believe it’s going by so fast? Are you building your hope and anticipation for the upcoming year? What are you believing for in the next decade?

It is one thing for me to talk on and on about the changes and what all is going to be different in the New Year, but we have to do our part.  Just wanting something different to happen isn’t going to get it done.  Some of us are just wanting something, anything to change and be different in our lives.  It could be our job, spouse, kids, friends, school, or family that we want to be different.  However, we have to do something different if we want our lives to be different.  Be the change! We have to take action.  Get in your mind, and in your heart what needs to improve in your situation.  Pray about it and do what God says do. I stand in agreement with you and God that it will happen.  Now, take action on what He said to do.  Get you hope and expectation level as high as you can.  Remember, the change has to take place in us, don’t try to change others.  Again, be the change you are wanting.  Today is the day that begins our change! Embrace it! Welcome it!

Lessons From The Nutcracker

Melissa, Gloria and I went to see the Nutcracker Friday night at the Bama Theater.  It was the first time I had ever seen it.  I think it’s the first time I have ever been to the ballet.  The dancers were amazing.

The focus that the dancers displayed was awesome.  The focus to train their gift and talent of dance is incredible.  There are hours and hours of practice, eating right, and study that goes into being able to perform at that level.  The same goes for us that might not be dancers, but we are all folk of destiny.  We have a gift and talent that we have to sharpen.  The only way to do this is to focus on our destiny.  When we focus on our destiny we are in a sense serving other, because our destiny is all about other folk.  Our gift and talent is not about us; it about serving others.  One thing that stood out to me was that dancers were smiling.  All through their perform they had a smile on their face.  When we are operating in our gift and talent, no matter how difficult the task may be we too can have a smile on our face. The smile comes from the peace we have knowing we living our destiny.  Day five of our destiny quest to end the decade.  Still excited about the upcoming year and all that it brings to us and what we offer to it.

Focused & Stress Free

Have you seen folk that no matter what is going on around them or in their lives they still are at peace, calm, cool and collective.  These folk have learned to deal with stress and stay focused.  This is imperative for us as we get closer to the end of the year.

Christmas time always seems to bring a lot of stress, not to mention the stress already in your life. Family and finances are two of the major reasons for stress this time of year.  Family and finances are stressors the whole year for most folk.  It’s just this time of year they are magnified.  We have to learn to be focused on what we are here to do, not what everybody else wants us to do. Folk will put expectations on you that are not fair.  Be careful what you allow to enter your heart and mind right now.  It is so important for you to be stress free and focused. Stay focused on your destiny.  This will keep you at peace.  Remember, your destiny is all about other folk.  You will have their best interest in mind, but from a better perspective.  When we don’t feel the stress of Christmas buying this will help us in our finances.  It is so important to stay at peace.  Peace and focus will come when we reduce the stress levels in our life.

We will talk more about stress, peace, and focus tomorrow.  You can live without stress.  It is a big step so we will take more time with it.  Have an awesome day! Focus on your destiny.

What's In Your Wallet

There is a commercial that asks,”What is in your wallet?” As we move into day three of our destiny quest into 2011; I want to ask a question.  “What is in your heart”?  That is the next step to an awesome New Year.

We can be doing all the right things but if our heart, our motives, and our agendas aren’t right then we are still wrong.  For some just doing the right thing some of the time is enough.  For others, doing the right thing if it serves them good is enough.  For the rest, doing the right thing, the right way, and for the right reason is the only way.  The third group is the group of destiny folk.  Check your motives, agendas, and reasons.  Make sure they are pure and wholesome.  I can speak from personal experience that I have done the right thing but for the wrong, selfish reasons and it always crashed in on me.  Wrong motives and agendas will always lead to disaster in some form or fashion.  Trust me on this one, I know.  I ask everyday, “God check my heart and make sure that its right and all that I am doing is for the right reason and show me the right way.”  Selfishness still tries to step in and do its part, but I am learning.

I am so expectant about your destiny, purpose and future going into 2011.  I feel like a little boy at Christmas! I know there is going to be some awesome things happen to you in the near future.  I can’t wait to hear about them! Prepare for the best!

Open Your Gift

There are so many things going through my mind in regards to the upcoming year and all that comes with it.  I have never been this excited about a new year.  However, this coming year will be like none other.

The first step we have to take is getting our anticipation level; our hope, our excitement level up.  Don’t look at next year as just another year, but look at it as the greatest year of your life.  2011 will be the most life changing and rewarding year of your life.  Don’t settle for average.  You are not average; so why shoot for average, just getting by in life.  You are unique, awesome and incredible.  You have amazing gifts and talents that you have not unwrapped yet.  Just like we do at Christmas time and birthday time; unwrap the gift that is inside you.  I am doing just that this year.  My birthday falls in the week of Christmas, which I never liked, but this year is different.  I will unwrap my birthday and Christmas gifts, but this year I will also unwrap my destiny gift.  In 2011 let’s put to use the gift that God has given us.  Make 2011 the greatest year ever! Open heaven in 2011.  Step one then is seeing the gift in you and by using your gift you will sky rocket past average.  I encourage you to bring someone with you. Get this blog to them. Encourage them. Together we will make a difference.
