People are Hurting

There are hurting folk everywhere. Chances are you are in this group or have been at sometime. What to do?
I talk to folk everyday that are hurting for one reason or another. Maybe you are in this group today. Some have had a train wreck at some point in their life and can’t seem to recover. There are others that have made a mistake that lead to another that lead to another and so on. There is pain in their voice. Their heart is breaking. What to do? Some can’t see any way out, no answers, no clue to what to do. You may not be in this group, but I have been, I have even caused some folk to be in this group during my life. I understand that you are hurting today. I know that there seems to be no one with you and there seems to be no one that cares. Well, I am here to tell that there is someone with you and there are folk that do care about you. Your life may seem out of control, but don’t give up, help is on the way. When we come to the realization that we are messed up; then we can start to make the changes necessary to turn things around. Today is your day to start making a change. It’s time to walk out of the place your in and move into the peace and joy of life that you are wanting so bad. Know that I pray for you everyday. I stand with my partners and believe for your best day everyday. I am on your side and God is on our side too. I might not be too much, but God… Today is your day!

Love Makes the World Go Round

Elvis used to sing, “Welcome to my world, the door is always open…” I have folk tell me quite a bit that I am very open, transparent, and honest about my life, my issues, my struggles.
The funny thing about that is; I used to be the most closed off and private person you would ever meet. What changed the way I am? Taking out the mistrust of others, fear of others, and low self esteem of myself. Then replacing that with trust, mercy, grace, acceptance and most of all love for folk. If I can allow this to take place in my life there is no doubt that you can too. It is a heart and a mind issue. When we allow our heart to be filled with love for self and for others, then the mind will follow. It is a transition. The heart will transform quickly, but the mind is a process. It is a process that takes place everyday. We have to renew our mind daily, which really means, everyday. There is nothing like having your mind free from all the mess and junk the world puts in it. I know I felt like I had seaweed all tangled up in my head, but that is all gone. The love of God will set your mind free from bondage. Choose love today! Make the decision to let love by the guide of your mind and heart. Love does make the world go round!

Not Disqualified

In spite of all the past mistakes we have made in our life; God still has a plan for us. Don’t be discouraged by your past; be encouraged by your destiny. We have not been disqualified.
For some of us we have thought that because of past mistakes and wrong decisions; we have been disqualified from our destiny. This is not true. Many times it is our mistakes and failures that qualify us for our purpose and destiny. I have dealt with this in my own life. There have been several periods in my life that I felt like God had put me on out of the way and forgotten about me. When I would go through difficult times; I would think that my ever having a purpose or destiny was over. I know this is not true, but the feeling can be hard to over come at times. The enemy knows where we are weakest and will try to attack our mind in that area. Stay focused on what God has said about your future and destiny. I promise you that you have not been forgotten about or disqualified. Folk may even try to make you feel that you have been, but it’s not true. Get back up, learn from your past, and move forward. I believe in you, standing with you, and counting on you.

Hip Hop Don't Stop

The other day my daughter, who is 7, came to me almost in tears, because she was having trouble with a Hip Hop dance routine she was trying to learn. She told me she couldn’t do it and was going to give up. Wonder how I reacted to that?
I am amazed at her young age how we start developing a give up mentality. We feel like we aren’t good enough. She doesn’t hear that at home, school, or church. It is the nature that is in us at birth. The older we get the more developed we become in that mindset. We have to work at and train our mind to change. Never give up! You are good enough and then some! You were created with purpose, destiny, and greatness in you! How is it we let this go at a young age? The enemy of your life will plan negative seeds in your mind. Don’t settle for average in your life. Don’t let others tell you negative lies about yourself. Train your self in the truth. What does God say about you? He created you, you aren’t perfect, but the truth is what God says about you. The truth will always override the facts.
Well, about ten minutes after she and I talked, she came running back in the room telling me how she had gotten the routine down pat. The truth was she could do it and failure was just part of the process. What is the truth about you?

Eggshells

I was talking with someone not long ago and they had no idea they had a purpose in life. Life was just the same thing everyday with no purpose outside of making it day to day.
It’s like we have a shell around our destiny sometimes. In our mind we can see others that have a purpose and destiny but we don’t see it in us. Like an egg; we have a shell around our purpose. Fortunately, just like an egg, that shell can be broken; allowing the life to spill out. That life being our destiny and purpose, not to mention our identity. If you can’t seem to find your destiny or purpose then take a look for the egg inside of you. Then crack the shell that is around it. You do have a destiny and a purpose that is inside you. It may be locked up, but it was meant to be released. You were created to grow and mature in your destiny and in your purpose. Don’t go another day without discovering the life that is there. It’s right there inside you. Let your destiny and purpose come alive in your life!

Due Season

Tired of being frustrated and irritated with your life? Tired of always being on the outside looking in? Tired of thinking about what could have been or should have been? Then this is your day.
If we are honest with ourselves and others, we would all say we have been in this place at one time or another. You may be in that place right now. I have to really guard my mind against getting in that place. I walked to of the gym the other day, it was rainy and overcast and I just said to God; “I am tired of being a nobody, a wannabe, average, unnoticed and unappreciated for what I do.” Now you may never feel this way or say that, but I do at times. It’s not about being in the center of attention or the star, but just knowing that what you do is helping others. I want to see some good fruit from my work. I am ready for ‘what goes around comes around’ to be a good thing. I want to enjoy the reaping what I sow. I know all in due season. Frustration and impatience on my part is a sign of pride that has to go. I want to encourage you today by telling you; you are not unnoticed or unappreciated. In due season you will see the fruit of what you are doing. God has an awesome plan and purpose for your life. Give Him His time with you to prepare you. Be patience; be still, listen and wait on God. He hans’t forgotten about you. You are in the forefront of His mind. He is thinking about you all the time. Your best and greatest days are yet ahead. Enjoy this season for what it is doing in you. You are full of awesome, wonderful, marvelous destiny!

Battle for the Mind

There is a war going on, a massive battle taking place. Where at you ask; in our mind. There is daily warfare taking place in our mind everyday.
I know on my part, I deal with mental battles everyday. Some days are better than others, but the opportunity is there each day. It is our choice what we allow into our minds. For me, I deal with the rejection mindset. I deal with feeling not good enough. However, I don’t have to believe it. I know that I am accepted and that I am good enough to do what I am called to do. There are so many that can’t seem to win the mental battle. There is nothing worse than having a defeated mindset. Mental battles can leave you at the point of depression. They can rob you of physical energy and ultimately of your destiny. The enemy of your destiny knows that if he can keep you tied up mentally; you will never live your destiny. We have to replace the lies of the enemy with the truth of God. We have to believe what our Creator says about us rather than what the destroyer says about us. It sounds easy, but I do understand it can be very difficult. Let’s work together to build one another up and win the battle of the mind.

Today is Your Day

Here we are at the half way point of the month. Can you believe it? We just celebrated New Year’s and month one is half gone. We started strong this year. I hope you haven’t lost your momentum.
I have talked to so many folk that have lost their faith, their focus, their perspective on their future. They don’t believe anything great and awesome will ever happen to them. Some of you may be thinking that maybe someday in the far off future something good might happen to me. The thing is this; today could be the day that something great, wonderful, and awesome happens in your life. You have to be expecting it, believing for it, speaking it into existence. We have to do our part in our destiny. Your super breakthrough day is right here! Don’t doubt it or say stuff that causes it to be delayed another day. You have seen it happen for others, but not for you. Do you believe that it could happen today? Are you ready and prepared for it to happen today? Have you made preparation in your life to handle the fullness of your destiny? Get your expectation and hopes up for your day is so close. Get everything that is holding you back out of your life. Remove all the unnecessary weights and get ready! Be of good courage, faith, and strength because it will take it. Today is your day to believe in your destiny without any restraints.

Perspective
The times in life that we are frustrated with life is when we are not living our destiny. It is not as difficult as it sometimes seems, but it can look complex and complicated when our perspective is out of line.
To say to someone; “You can do anything or be anything you want to be,” is not exactly a good thing. If they believe they have a destiny designed for them by God then that is what they should do and be. It may just be semantics, but we have been given a gift and should use that gift for our destiny. It’s not what we want so much as what God wants for us. To not want to follow that plan would be saying that God was wrong or He should change. Again, this thinking is for the person that believes that God has prepared a destiny for them. I believe He has prepared a destiny for every person. I guess it goes to the point of do you God’s perfect will or His permissive will for your life? Some would say there is only His perfect will or not in His will at all. So it’s really our choice what we do. Just giving you my thoughts about it today. I believe each of you that read this is living in your destiny. It’s an exciting time to be alive. Don’t let anything or anyone discourage you. Know that God has got your back!

Yes You Can

I wrote once about; “Yes you can.” You have permission to live your destiny. You are good enough, smart enough, and talented enough. Sometimes we need to hear that again.
We hear, too often, about we can’t do something or that we aren’t good enough to do something. Listen, you are good enough. It’s easy to believe the negative and bad stuff about us, but know that the opposite is true. Never think for a second that you don’t have what it takes. You have exactly what it takes.
If you were doing exactly what you were created to do, what would you be doing right now? Sometimes we think our purpose and destiny is tied to one area, when in reality it isn’t. So think about it, if you were living your destiny to the fullest; what, where, and who would you be?
